Never owned or shot a 28 ga, getting older and need something with less weight and kick for all around shooting, doves, quail, pigeons, busting clays etc. Have sxs in 410,20, 16, and 12 ga. Will reload own shells for it. Should I buy a cheap stoeger to try out before I spend big bucks on a good one ? Can anyone tell me about the stoeger uplander sxs? Thanks

Dear OWE:_________

I would recommend buying exactly the 28 that you want. They are essentially a 410 with better lines and a little more umph ( 3/4 oz shot for the 28 vs 1/2 oz for the 410 target loads). They are usually on a small frame, are quick handling, and are great to hunt with. Recoil is negligable. I have a field grade citori with a 24 inch barrel. As i remember; it weighs about 5.5 to 6 lbs. It is a great little gun.

Depending on how much you shoot; you may want to order skeet loads from someone like Gamaliel Shooters supply (here Winchester - Shotgun-Target Loads - Ammunition - Gamaliel Shooting Supply).

They are great folks to deal with, and they sell reloading supplies too!!

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,

LEROY
