Interest in an informal TGO get-together for Nashville area members?

Is there a TFA meeting on the 20th?

The plan as of two months ago was that there would be a TFA meeting the 2nd Tuesday of every month... period. However when you look at the TFA's own message board, there was a post made by John Harris bringing up the idea of canceling the Nov and Dec meetings because of the holidays.

At this point I'm starting to feel that whether or not there will be a TFA meeting is rather moot. Chapters in other counties seem to enjoy considerable success while Nashville flounders. Part of why it flounders is the hit-or-miss meeting schedules that have cursed the chapter for a while now.

So to answer your question: If they follow the proclamation that we made two months ago, then yes there will be a meeting. Regardless, there will be an informal gathering of TN Gun Owners members at the Picadilly Cafeteria right down the street.

Tungsten, you said the 2nd Tues., did you mean the 3rd Tues., or am I all mixed up. Also, dunndw said in another thread that we should go ahead and meet each month. I believe his thoughts were to keep us from having hit-or-miss meeting schedules. If TFA is not having it's regular meeting, maybe someone could email the TFA members and let them know about the TN Gun Owners members informal gathering and make it for both TGO and TFA. Just a thought.

I keep having farts

there ya go Tungsten, fixed it for you.

Okay that was juvenile and in poor taste. :( But I have to admit I crack myself up sometimes. :):woohoo:

You've been sneaking around my house?!? :)

Sniff first, turn on electrical appliances second! We don't want a house-sized crater from a methane explosion!

Bummer dude!

I got our reservation for 12 people (I'm optimistic!) at 7:00 PM. My cell is 615 423 5522 if anyone gets lost or can't find our table or anything, and my name is James.

See ya.

...and to think I had Lunch with Tungsten not too long ago. I thought all the drumming was the construction outside.

Would it be possible to move this earlier, to 6pm perhaps, so that we could also make the TFA meeting just up the road? (if not, I'll still be at Piccadilly)

*sigh*

Perry from the TFA Nashville chapter called me again a moment ago and said that while Buford and staff will be at the APPS offices this evening around the time of the scheduled meeting, that the meeting has in fact been called off.

Communication continues to be the stumbling block for TFA Nashville. :-\

I recommended to Perry that he give strong consideration to stopping by the Picadilly Cafeteria this evening between 6:00 - 6:30 and meet you folks, eat with you, and talk about the current state of things. I told him that he could expect some very candid remarks about the way TFA Nashville seems to be going lately.

If he does show up, please welcome him. He seems to be struggling with the same frustrations that the rest of us are and would likely welcome any feedback that you can give.

Eddie (Molonlabe) ... you and Danny (Dunndw) know what Perry looks like. Could you guys be on the lookout for him this evening? He might not be able to spot you guys as easily as you will him.

Again, I'm sorry I won't be able to make it. I've got some family stuff going on this evening that will keep me from being there this time.

The wife has stopped me from going...something about having 20+ people showing up here on Thursday expecting dinner or something like that and the house needing picking up (mostly my office)

She officially hit PANIC mode sometime this morning

(It's her first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner for both our families)

Well, since we are not planning around the TFA meeting, it would work better for me to just keep the reservation at 7... I'll try to be there a bit early though.

:eek::D:D

I thought about setting a place setting for 4 people...handing them their plates as they come in the door and telling them to be quick as we have people waiting for their seats...oh and to make sure to wash their dishes when done. I was even going to spring for a Maître d’ for the evening

Neither that or the paper plates with sporks idea went over very well.

I might have to call Frank and borrow the ETS, Inc. Reduced Noise Feline/ Annoying Relative Annoyance Eradication Device if things get nasty

Alright, I've got us a corner reserved for 7pm under my secret code-name "James." I'll be there about 6:45. I'll probably still be in my work clothes, khakis and a blue polo.

See you guys there!

Yep, we're still on, Joseg!

For anyone else, even if you haven't replied to this thread, please feel free to come and join us for dinner and gun chat!

Sorry guys! Got delayed at work. Hope everyone had a good time.

Sorry you missed it Len!

Yep, we had a great time! Of course, the initial awkwardness of meeting a bunch of people for the first time was there, but soon we were all having a good time learning how to get your car out of a jam with a KelTec PLR16 and a shotgun. :slapfight:

I hope we can have another meet soon, maybe after the new year when everybody's schedule slows down.

Thanks again to all who came, and hope to see you again soon!
