Well it took me some time, a bit of money, two tries, and some hair, but I finally got the damn thing refinished.

Finish is great, hopefully it'll stand up to the abuse that I intend to put it through.

Mandatory porn.

And yes, I know the front sight is tan. I couldn't get it off the gun til this afternoon, so tomorrow it will be black again.

And the grips should be in tomorrow as well. More pics then.

Nice looking PT1911,how do you like yours so far,I have the PT with the rail in black and its been great.I will be refinishing my Springer in the alumahyde,I hope it comes out as good as yours did.

Had it for about 5 months now. Shoot 200 rounds through it a week. Running like a champ.

Alumahyde is good stuff. Should come out great.

Very nice. That color makes the black accessories really pop.

Sure does. If you're getting tan grips, I say forget it. Black & Tan isn't just a great beer name.

Got the VZ Operator II grips on. Had to create an ambi-cut since they didn't get shipped with it. File and a knife and they fit great.

These grips rock, extremely aggressive checkering. Doesn't slip no matter how wet my hands are. And muzzle control is greatly increased, very little muzzle flip now.

Thanks, I'm quite happy with it.

A bit of wear on the finish already, but that's because I beat the crap out of this gun.

You really should have waited to shoot the coating until after you had the front sight off. Other than that, it looks like you did a good job. Congrats. ;)
