Comp Geeks: Any volunteers?

Hi-

I'm not all that great with computers, but I have a lady friend who can't get her mic to work on Skype, and she is asking for help...anyone good at

this stuff, and want to help out a nice lady?

Does her mic work on any other program? It may be an audio driver. Maybe check the audio settings, first. Control panel, sounds and audio devices, tab voice and test hardware. If nothing there, tab hardware, if nothing found, sounds like maybe hardware upgrade. If hardware is there check function. If no function, check for and/or reinstall driver software. Having never used skype, I don't know about that, but may be a settings issue with it. Hope that helps. Maybe someone else knows more about skype:)

First suggestion I was going to mention. By the way for anyone that is curious I have a Micrcomputer Specialist Diploma in The field of Computer Electronics from Tennessee Technology Center @ Athens.

she really was looking for someone to I/M with her, to do a bit of troubleshooting. I'll pass this information along to her, and maybe she (and her kids) can figure it out, using it.

I would be happy to im with her but I dont have skype. I could possibly help her troubleshoot it using yahoo messenger but she probably still wouldnt get it especially if she aint computer savvy.

what brand is the computer? There have been a few asus netbooks I've seen that have driver issues with skype. Just a simple patch d/l fixes the issue. She might be having the same problem
