My name is Brian and I was born and raised in Knoxville. Went to undergrad in SC and left there for grad school. Right now I'm back in Knoxville while preparing for a rather large exam in March.

Not much going on in regards to shooting, but I am signed up to take the concealed carry course at the Sheriff's department Feb 6th.

I'm mostly into long range shooting with my .308, but enjoy all forms of shooting. I thoroughly enjoy reloading as well, and recently purchased a Dillon 650. Too bad I wont have the time to fiddle with it while I'm studying. Bummer

Welcome Brian! I guess it depends on the instructor and those in the class with you, but when I took mine in 1997, I had a blast.

I'm learning about long range shooting now. It's not as easy as I thought. It seems like you have to do 5 minutes of work for every shot. Very interesting though. I have a lot to learn, but I'm enjoying learning. It's amazing to see an accurate shot at 1,350 yards!!

Again, welcome!

Welcome! Sounds like a little shooting every now and then would be a nice break from the studying?:google:

I agree, and was considering hitting up Coal Creek Armory tomorrow.

Chemistry professor? I have a BS in chemistry and a BS in biochemistry. Certainly enjoyed most of the courses, especially the Chemistry of Beer. Learned all about the beer making process and the different types. Our "lab" was in a new bar one day a week :D
