Does anyone know if carrying is allowed on the walking trail

in Smyrna that runs from the Stewart Creek Boat Dock

to the Recreational park on Sam Ridley? I think that Smyrna

opted-out on their local parks, so not sure how that applies.

Well, is it posted?

And to split hairs, if posted, is it done so compliant with statute?

I quess what I'm asking is it considered a public sidewalk or part

of the park. I don't think if a town opts-out they even have to post.

Opting out of newest park carry statute, meaning prohibiting carry, YES they have to post, and they have to post exactly with statute wording and sign size, unlike normal business posting.

Obviously, I can't answer your further question as to classification of the path.

As of yet, Smyrna has not opted out.

However, all of the parks still have the old signs up (I don't think any of them are compliant).

Todd do you know if the walk is part of the park system?

If Smyrna Ops out will it be off limits to HCP's?

It's my understanding that the trails ARE part of the park system, yes.
