Could this be the way to kill HB2422? I sent a letter to Glen Casada to bump HB 2422 so it can even get a vote. This does not preclude us telling our elected officials about our opinion on HB2422.

Hardaway is a noob. I think it couldn't hurt to oppose all other Hardaway sponsored bills and let him know we want to negate him as a lawmaker. Here is a way to search for bills. http://www.capitol.tn.gov/legislation/ Let's send a message to these anti gun folks that we stand united and if they want to lock horns with us, we will battle them on every legislative front, every piece of unrelated or insignificant legislation that they sponsor. It has been said that social security is the "third rail" of politics. Lets make anti gun laws in TN the same.

Please act.

1. Find your legislator http://www.capitol.tn.gov/legislators/

2. Contact them.

* The best letters are handwritten, short (not more than one page), and courteous.

* Address and open your letter properly: The Honorable (Senator’s name) or The Honorable (Representative’s Name). Address (at the state capitol). Dear Senator (Name) or Dear Representative (Name).

* Identify yourself as a constituent (include your name and address).

* Clearly identify the bill you are writing about http://www.capitol.tn.gov/legislation/ (example: “HB2422 by Hardaway ").

* State what you want done (“I want you to oppose HB 2422").

* Personalize your letter. Use your own words, and include a sentence or two about your personal experience with the issue, or a sentence or two about the local impact of the legislation in question.

* Be sure to sign your letter if you can.

* Be sure to thank the legislator for their attention.

* A postcard is also quick and effective. Identify yourself and the bill, say what you want your legislator to do, and mail it!

* If you are a constituent, say so. According to the Electronic Frontier Foundation, legislators pay 10 times more attention to letters from constituents than from non-constituents.

* Always refer to legislation (including bills, amendments, and resolutions) by number and title. Also list the sponsor, and the topic and whether you feel it should be supported or opposed.

* State your opinion of the legislation. If you agree with the actions of the legislator, tell him/her so. If you disagree, politely ask that he/she change their stance on the issue.

* Avoid mentioning that you "are a taxpayer," or "I am a voter." Instead say, "I am a constituent," or "I am a supporter of the legislation of (the legislators name)."

3. WE CAN STOP THIS MADNESS!

Subject HB2422 – Sponsored by Hardaway

Dear Representative Casada:

Thank you for your support of the “castle doctern” and the 2nd amendment. You are making Tennessee a safer place to live.

  1. Thank you for bumping the resolution set to honor Michael Jackson sponsored by Hardaway. Aside from being a waste of money, narcotic drug abuse, child molestation, child endangerment, and generally bizare behavior is not honorable.
  2. Please bump HB 2422 – also sponsored by Hardaway. This bill will also not pass and is not a deterent to gun crime. Firearm trade shows that are open to the public represent an affordable method for federally liecenced dealers and consumers of firearms to meet and engage in legal transactions for fireams and firearm ammunition. The langauge of HB 2422 places undue burden on these parties. TN would lose these shows and the sales tax and ammunition stamp tax revenue to ajacent states.

I work all hours and travel frequently, starting and ending trips by driving alone to Nashville and Atlanta airports late at night and early in the morning. A flat tire in Atlanta at 1 am makes a driver vulnerable to robbery and assault.

My HCP has changed my preference for the type of handguns I need. The gun shows provide a forum to buy, sell and trade guns and buy ammo at a fair price from FFL dealers including local small businessmen.

Please bump HB 2422 if possible.

Thank you and best regards,

Cxxxxx Cxxxx

Don't think it has anything to do with HB2422 other than it continues to show that Hardaway simply has a personal agenda while on the hill.
