I always fly with a gun checked as long as where I am going honors my permit. It has only been a hassle once. However, be prepared for employees who do not know the correct process for checking guns. I have encountered about four or five different processes at various times, but they all worked out in the end.

:poop:...just wear a sport coat...have your trusty $20 HCP Badge clipped to your belt, you're one of the good guys...flying with a gun. The Air Marshals will be grateful for your covert assistance.:cheers:

Buddy of mine flew Delta last year and had a Champion Operator and a STI 1911 (not sure what model) checked in his luggage. Got to his destination - guns were gone.

Same here . . . last year a good friend arrived at his destination only to find his two serial number matched Colt Pythons were no longer in his luggage . . .
