The playbook deal involving Zook was when an assistant coach named Jack Sells faxed him our playbook before we played Florida

Yep....

Florida?Tennessee football rivalry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Before the 1991 game, Former Tennessee coach Jack Sells, who had been fired before that season for his role in recruiting violations caused a stir by faxing Florida Defensive Coordinator Ron Zook a Tennessee playbook. Both Zook, who would become a Gator Head coach in 2002, and Head coach Steve Spurrier denied receiving the information.

However, a Kinko's employee in Knoxville turned Sells in, and produced a fax cover sheet showing a transmission from Jack Sells and the copy center near campus to the University of Florida Athletic Department. The controversy continued after the Gators' 35-18 victory in the game. Sells later sued Kinko's for privacy violations and moved away from Knoxville.[5]

Now that is one different way to make a buck?.......cheat knowing someone will turn you in and then sue.....

Back to the ongoing rumors.........

Well I think we will be better off in the long run. That said I don't think we have a chance this year so why not slow down and get the right guy for the next 10 years.

Cutcliffe did the same thing, he sent the playbook to Ole Miss before he went there to coach.

I live in Memphis with several close friends who are Ole Miss alums. One of the main reasons Cutcliffe was allegedly fired there was because they did not feel like he was able to recruit SEC caliber players. Guess we'll see.

At this stage of the season and given our situation, we are not going to get a "name" coach, so I was hoping for Kippy, too.

Wonder if Tiger Woods wants to be a football coach? Naaa . . . would spend all his time chasing the cheerleaders.

Kippy Brown is a journeyman coach. Lots of experience at college and NFL level, just no head coaching experience. Gotta be a reason for that.
