You may consider a Remington 1187, should be able to pick one up at a decent price alot of accessories and being semi auto would make a great home defense. Plus would be alot of fun adding all the accessories. Just a thought.

If you really want a shotgun you can bring up fast, get a Taurus Judge. LOL! A pistol that shoots 410 shot shells. I giggle every time I see one at a gun show. As for my HD shotty, I have a mossberg 500. It has a the ATI pistol grip/adjustable stock. Nothing says "GTFO of my house!" like 8 rounds of 00 buck.

I just bought my first shotgun. It's a Mossberg 535 tactical. I got it mainly for home defense but plan on trap shooting with it ( to see if i like the sport before i buy an automatic).

Thinking with the pump action on a shotgun, would be thieves would not hesitate to turn and run( but i would have to be there for this to work).

Slowly i am building up my home arsenal, Was going to get an AR for a good deal but they( Gander Mtn) sold the only one they had right out from under me. Oh well, next time.

I've got 3 870's in various forms from 1950's 20GA wing-master to 12GA home defense magnum. Any of the big name pump shotguns should work well for you. The Remington 870's are pretty iconic for a pump, as is the Mossberg 500

Has no one noticed this thread is a year old and only got resurrected by someone trying to sell a gun from NY?

Why is a NY dealer on the TN gun owners forum in the first place?

RE:"JoeBobOutfitters is in Kansas, not in TN, but we ship nation-wide. We are supporting sponsors, however."

Was referring to this guy who posted an ad in the post: george1957 TGO Freshman

He is not a supporting vendor.

I know he was not. I was just making clarifying the fact we were not in TN, but were supporting vendors still, although we were not "plugging" for sales.

"On April 13, 2009 the ten millionth Model 870 was produced, and the 870 holds the record for best-selling shotgun in the history of the world."

$200-300, used in a number of pawn shops. I got mine with long and short barrels.

Currently I have an 870 Wingmaster with a synthetic SpeedFeed forearm and a Black Warrior pistol grip butt stock that is kinda rubber coated, it's non-slip anyway. I have also added a mag extension, results in a 7+1 capacity, that fits perfectly with the 20" cylinder barrel with rifle sights. I also have a handmade, bird's-head style pistol grip, made from the original wood butt stock. Extra accessories include a standard pistol grip with synthetic forearm, and a SpeedFeed butt stock that goes with the forearm that is on the gun now. The box for the SpeedFeed set says that it is a youth stock, I couldn't tell you either way because I bought it second hand. It does have an aftermarket recoil-absorbing pad.

I really like my shotgun, but I really like trading for a better deal when I can. Plus, I am dying to get a Saiga S12.

This post is in no way an attempt to skirt around the rules of TGO and the Classified Area.
