Thanks all, so my eyes are unfortunately getting worse and I had a set of all black competition black sights on my Dan Wesson and had issues not being able to see the front sight very well so would a fiber front sight be a good option for my aging eyes? COOP

I run a blacked out factory rear and a Hi-Vis fiber front on both my G17s.

Yes it would help.

Another thing that helps is to run a special RX for your shooting glasses. It is called monovision, have your dominate eye set for crisp clear focus at the front sight and your other eye set for infinity. This has made a huge difference for a lot of competition pistol shooters.

Some eye docs are cool with bringing in gun to work this out, if yours isn't measure the distance from your eye to the front sight and bring in a sheet of paper with a sight post drawn on it.

I use Rudy Project glasses with an RX insert behind the lenses. This is one option there are others as well.

The Warren/Sevigny's are great as Deerslayer said, also Ameriglo makes a bunch of good Glock options, the main thing is you'll want to go thinner than stock on the front to a .125 or .115 (stock is really wide at .140!) and possibly a wider notch in the rear (stock is .150).

The Warrwn/Sevigny's are a .115 front with a .150 rear notch but you usually see them on a longer G34, I had a set of Ameriglo's on a G17 that was a .125 in front with a wide .180 rear notch in the rear and proportionally it was really close to that just a bit thicker in front.

Just remember that the longer the barrel the thinner the front blade will appear, so a set that looks great on a G34 may not jive so well on say a shorter G19... So when you see a set you like, if it's on a longer or shorter gun try to guess if that change in the front's width would be a dealbreaker on you G17...

Don't let people tell you a wide notch rear will not be precise, that's BS, you'd have to go super wide for the front to really swim on you, most just find the bigger light bars a wider rear/thinner front provide a huge help.

On another note, and IMO more important than any sights, if you don't already shoot with both eyes open, you need to learn to NOW! It's that big of a deal.

Good luck.
