Since you're asking for testimonials--I'll add mine.

Started fresh at IDPA back in December after 15 years carrying a handgun. Been 4 or 5 times. The first match, I was either dead last or damn close to it. I keep shooting better each time--and that's the point. One of the most productive parts is watching the videos back (if you go with a buddy who can hold your camera). Each time, I find a mistake that I make a mental note not to repeat again. It's encouraging to track your own progress, and the match scores are a great way to do that.

For some, it's about gaming the system and winning. For me, it's about shooting with my carry rig and building skills as a more competent shooter.

If you can pay attention to the safety rules, the rest will come with time. Came pretty naturally for me. And hey--if I can do this: anyone can!
