Funny Deer Hunting story

I'm sure that just about everyone has a funny hunting story.I have to share this one.My buddy Wayne who we have known each other since we were about 8 years old and we are in our 50's now. We worked together at a pottery in the 80's and we would hunt the company property after we got our work done on 2nd shift.He shot a buck and he needed a hand putting it in the old 68 Chevy Biscayne.You know the one with the trunk so big you could put a honda civic in.He didn't have time to gut it, so I helped him throw it in the trunk and we would take care of it when we got it back to his house after work.As he was driving home he said he heard thumping coming from the rear of the car. (The 1st clue something was wrong) Well as you guessed, he only knocked it out.When I was following him home I noticed that dents were appearing on the trunk lid, rear fenders from the inside out.(not a good sign). He pulled into the driveway and jumped out of the car. The rear seat didn't look too good either. He popped the trunk lid and we heard the deer grunting and you could see his breath in the cold. And he was really pissed.Now I could have said later and left, but Wayne was my buddy so I said I would try to help him. He couldn't shoot him again cause as you know the gas tank is under the trunk in those old cars and well, that would have made a big mess.So I put pressure on the trunk lid and Wayne was able to kill it with his knife.(Funniest thing I ever saw).The things you see when you don't have a camera.Wayne's poor car looked like it went through a battle.All I could do was laugh at him.28 years later he still hasen't lived it down. Even his Dad still breaks his chops. His deer are dead now before he puts them in the truck.

I bet your friend shoots them like 6 extra times now before he loads up the deer

Did he ever get the Chevy repaired, Chief ? I wonder what the paint shop folks thought about the dents coming from the inside out? Bet they hadn't seen that kind of damage before!

No, he doesn't fix them. If you knew Wayne, his cars and trucks look real rough,

When he is done with them he drives them to the junk yard. A time or two I had to help him push them.

He got a new GMC Envoy for his wife. The Envoy was black, I say was black.

He took it through the woods and now it is gray primer striped.

I guess you know I don't lend him my truck!
