They weren't really babysitting in this particular instance as it was an IED that went off.

I look at it as two reporters taking up seats that would have otherwise contained Marines.

So in the end, they gave their lives protecting Marines. Odd spin on it, I know. But it makes me feel better about losing a brother in arms.

So, to stir the pot, reporters are somehow less deserving of life than a soldier?

I am not going to answer that question. But I will relate my experience with reporters (CNN) in the sandbox of Iraq.

After returning from a Children's Hospital that our unit was going to sponsor/help out, we were confronted by a crew from CNN.....When our SGM tried to tell them of the horrific conditions at the Hosp. and what we were going to attempt to do in order to help them out.

He was cut off and told by the reporter and told that they did not want to hear any "feel good" stories and were more concerned with a firefight that had occurred while we were getting there.

Our SGM promptly called them a few names not fit for here and told them in no uncertain terms not to come back to our unit for anything what-so-ever.

I realize every reporter is not the same and will not group them all as such, but this bunch from CNN was only out for "If it bleeds it leads" aspect of what we were doing and could not care less about the "good" aspect of the story.

They really ticked us off as we were doing quite a lot of GOOD things and encountering good people but they did not want to hear any of that.

And I guess I WILL answer the question.....

NO I do not think a Soldier is more "deserving" of life than a reporter or anyone else for that matter.

The Marine and the reporter both volunteered to be where they were. I do find it sad that either had to die in such a cowardly attack.....and folks that is what we are fighting....a bunch of cowards.

And oddly enough I do understand where Kegger is coming from.....I would bet there isnt any one of you who, given the choice of a family member's life or that of someone you do not know would pick your family member to be the one to lose their life. That is all he is saying.....He considers all Soldiers and Marines to be his brothers.

Thank you ... and I am not going to say for your service because that is becoming so damn trite.

Thank YOU for telling the TRUTH of what is really going on there today.

Thank YOU for exposing the media for what they have become.

Thank YOU for being a human being that cares about the misery in that area.

Thank YOU for having the courage to do something about it.

Thank YOU for making a difference in and caring about people's lives.

If I have a prayer today, it is that power of truth from testimonies like yours be published on the internet empowering the common people to see and feel that power. Eventually these "media giants" will fall and crumble because the people know their motives and words ring false and hold no truth. It has become one giant propaganda machine that spins words into fables that have no inherent value.

Thanks again for opening my eyes and my mind.

Yeh, it was the fact that the reporter was the one killed and the

Marine was "also killed". Typical of CNN.
