I have hinted about this for some time, recently I was told from another source at Remington it was no longer a secret so Here goes. REMINGTON will be making a line of 1911 pistols. The 1st ones out will be very nice and tight finely tuned Mil Spec 1911's. They will be called the R1.

Our own Sam has been involved in every aspect of their development from the start. So anyone wanting a really sweet quality 1911 with Tennessee ties...they should be available next month.

And yes we will have them.

Yes, price range would be a good bit of info...help me to decide if it's worth waiting to purchase my first carry gun to get one of these.

Congrats Sam........I think it's sweet as hell that you've actually had a hand in creating a firearm from the ground up. Pretty cool if ya ask me.....:P

Oh, hell yes. I can't wait to see one (internet, in person, don't care). Please update when you can, and thanks for the heads up!

That's awesome! Can't wait to see one. Especially since I've recently drank the 1911 Kool Aid!

Much more interesting news than Ruger.

Not sure how true this is but someone on another gun site claims he knows that the R1 prices will be in the $1300.00 range, can anyone confirm this?

A Remington 1911 sounds like a handgun I'd be very interested in. It is good to read that Remington is finally back in the handgun business.

Remington isn't exactly in the business of making firearms for one gun shop.

Yea they would go broke if they did that. These will be mass produced, they are just all hand fitted and customized. But im not going to have any corner on the market im sure there will be plenty to go around, however im positive we will be one of the 1st to get some.. :-)

Just be patient and stay tuned.

This in really cool news. Do you think the R1 could be collecter 20 yrs down the road having one with a low #SN?
