I spent a month in northern England once, and didn't understand half of what was said to me, and I consider myself almost fluent in English! :P

So are you actually Brazilian?

- OS

Well, they do say that England and America are two countries separated by a common language.

I used to live in Brazil and my wife is from there.

Pathetic try????? coming from someone who has never shot one i ASSume....

Well you must not know what "JK" means. And I have shot one, several,I even bought one, and sold it about 3 months later.I was not impressed. My father in law has a PT111 pro 9mm and when he pulls the trigger on an empty chamber, the slide moves back and forth, it misfires every 3 or 4 rds.He sent it off, got it back 12 weeks later and it did the same thing.Mine gave very weak hits on primers.Rounds that wouldn't fire in there, went like cake through a fat man in my G19.

Anyone who hates on a pt1911 apparently has never handled/shot one. A few quick easy changes and it will perform as well as a 1500.00 weapon, you can meet me at the range and try it out. And it's hungry for ANY ammo.

Does your son live around here?

No, they both grew tired of racism and hillbillies and left Knoxville.

They live in AZ south of Phoenix now.

I miss the black beans and rice, aside from terribly missing them.

Back on topic. funny thing. My question was answered in the first response, totally answered mind you.

This thing has gone on for 30 posts since ,LOL

Isn't it funny how when a thread begins with "I didn't want to hijack another thread so I started this one"........it's the one that gets hijacked or off topic the quickest. I saw it happening and joined in!!

Anyone know it Taurus uses exact metal qualities for every gun compared to the originals? For example, my cousin's Kimber (which is an economy/value) was oxidizing on the barrel at the breach within weeks of ownership but without even been fired. I don't want to see this in a Taurus. I'll also consider only a stainless model if we know that the durability of its finish is close to equal to the big boys.

*Repost from Peace's thread, but maybe you guys know.

Jack, I own 3 SS Taurus and the finishes on pt1911/pt100 and model 44/.44 are as nice as the day I bought them, matte ss is nice to.

That's what I thought. Do you use any particular holsters that protect them?

I only carry the 1911 and I use a soft inside the pants Uncle Mikes sidekick size 5, it works great no print, used to carry pt100 it was to thick in side pant the hammer dug a hole in my stomach when sitting, use the same holster for 44 works fine. No scratches.

i have 3 taurus handguns. one is a pt1911. one is a pt99. one is a model 605. the pt1911 is black. the others are stainless steel. i hold them sometimes and they are nice.

i used to be able to speak spanish, but i seem to forgotten all the words these days. i still think pt is pistola taurus. thats what i think it said on my pt99 sheets.

i don;t know nothing about all of this other talking that you guys are talking about. it sees like there's lots of other discussions about other things that taurus.

it's like Hi Point bashing me thinks, your Taurus seems to shoot fine

Hi-Point bashing may be a bit more fair. I was in G&L buying a new P229 when a guy came in with a new Hi-Point, complaining of feeding problems. Everyone within earshot just kinda rolled their eyes, but were nice enough not to say anything. Most reputations are earned, after all.

I found the PT1911 to be quite a decent shooter for the money. And sadly (this makes me chuckle) - I've never had a problem with shooting a Taurus 1911... the two Kimbers that I shot (a TLE II and a Classic) were unreliable, had ejection problems (the TLE), feed issues (the Classic), and both had problems with the various ammo that I fed them (Magtech, Wolf, Remington UMC, Federal, and finally Atlantic Arms crap reload stuff).

The Taurus ate it all, no problems. Many will say, "Well, no wonder that you had no problems with the Taurus - it's a loose gun - it'll eat anything..." Not the case - my Dan Wesson, Springfield from Hero Gear, Smith and Wesson Pro Shop 1911, and Para SSP Limited all ran through that ammo just fine, zero problems... the Kimbers were the only ones that **** out and had issues. Go figure. :screwy:

That's why I traded in my Kimber, too many failure to go into battery malfunctions. I couldn't trust it although I was more accurate with it than any other handgun i've owned. Someday I would like another 1911 but I want reliability first.

Try a Springfield. Best bang for the 1911 buck IMHO. Owned mine for a few years now with only one FTF and one FTE. Both happened on the first day in the first 50 rounds. Since then no issues at all. And it is far more accurate than I am.

Big +1. I have a commander size Operator that shoots better than the Colt Officers model and my S&W 945 Micro.

Sorry for the further hijack.

I hear you on the Kimber... for such *nice* guns, I've just not been impressed. It seems as though one has to get a Kimber dircet from their custom shop (100%) to receive a gun that's not going to have an issue. Many say that it's just break-in, but the ones that I shot were more than broken in, and were taken care of (from what I could tell... their owners were pretty consciencious). Oh well.

Great suggestion on the Springfield - I believe that Springfield makes one of the best out-of-the-box shooters for the money, and their nicer guns really do hold their own, as well. I know for a fact that I'd have a TRP over a "similar" Kimber, any day of the week...
