So I finally bought my first .22. I've been eyeing a few for a while now and Academy had the Marlin 795 on sale for 109 plus Marlin's rebate making it 89. I pricematched at Dick's and I actually didn't have to pay a background check! Score free 10 bucks!

I took it out on New Years day and man...Marlin did it right. I love the gun, had no issues feeding ammo, and it was accurate as crap. For a cheap .22 the gun is beautiful. If the squirrel population drastically drops by the spring, you know who to blame...

I put a sling on it, bought a hard case for it, and I think that's all I'm gonna do to it.

They have 1 of these at our local Wal-Mart,looks like a nice rifle for around 1 bill,Marlin is usually a pretty decent shooting manufacture at a real reasonable price,Congrats.

Marlin 795 and 60 are both fine guns...

795: detachable mag, ten rounds, extra mag cost but quicker reloading

60: tube mag, 14 rounds, no extra mag cost but slower reloading

No wood stock option for 795, both models available in stainless also.

It's said the 795 can cycle a little quicker than the 60, for whatever that's worth.
