Mounting a holster to the nightstand

Ive thought about mounting a holster to the back of my nightstand. Do you think it was be easier to have it there then in the top drawer? I dont have kids, so I dont worry about little ones getting to it. The location of my nightstand is good, you dont ever see behind it. Any thoughts?

Whatever you think works best for you. I've seen some people put a layer of foam in the drawer and cut out a spot for the gun to sit so it won't slide around.

Thats not a bad idea. But I think mines more of a security issue than a sliding around the drawer issue. You know?

Why would you not just keep it in the drawer during the day and set it on top of the nightstand when you go to bed?

Guess I've always figured the the noise it would take from them to break in the locked door would be enough to wake me up.

If not and they are already on top of me in my bedroom, not sure I'd have enough time to reach into the drawer or behind the stand to grab the handgun anyway.

But decent point that if they didn't see it, they wouldn't have yours to use against you.

Yeah, my sleaping habits are screwed up. Sometimes I wake up to the smallest sound. Then other times IVe slept thru hurricanes. I dont wanna be in a deep sleep the night someone if ever decides to break in.

For the windows, drill through the sashes where they intersect at a slight downward (pointing down from the inside) with a 1/4" bit on both sides of the sash. Put a new threaded bolt/screw/pin barely small enough to insert through the first sash and HALF WAY into the second sash. This should leave you with a traditional middle sash latch and two new bolts for each window. The leverage to pry that kind of window is infuriating. They'll make enough noise trying to get in, you should be able to wake from that. This is a really cheap and effective fix. On my doors I have high pitched personal sirens that they would have a hard time trying to figure out how to turn them off, meanwhile a disturbance like that will have my wife screaming like a monkey (sorry, honey, but it's true!) And then I bought a security system. A real one where every entrance is hardwired. Mine was $700 installed in two days. There are no batteries to worry about on every sensor. Monitoring is $22/mo. because I shopped around for low monthly fees and made them match it.

Just screw a part of a belt across the back of the nightstand

down low , get a cheap uncle mikes clip on holster and slide it over the belt , works great.

Yeah, Im gonna go to the store today and look for a holster. I didnt even thing about using a old belt. Great idea.

if i woke up to that running around my bedroom, my floor would look like swiss cheese after i emptied my sp-01 on it.

Yeah, won the title of World's Ugliest Dog (literally) for quite awhile, but I believe it finally passed away. God apparently had mercy on it.
