Yes I know that the "quiet" areas aren't. But damn...all in one day

HERMITAGE, Tenn. -- Metro police are searching for a masked man with a gun accused of robbing the Mrs. Winner's on Lebanon Pike Sunday morning.

Officers said the alleged robber was wearing a ski mask, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and white shoes. He allegedly showed a silver handgun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

But officers said at some point the robber took off the mask and was captured on store surveillance cameras leaving without it. Police said the gunman fled on foot.

No one was hurt in the holdup

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A brief standoff has ended stemming from a drive-by shooting outside a Donelson Kmart.

At about about 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, someone drove past the Kmart on Donelson Pike, sprayed several bullets and sped away.

Police believe the gunman was targeting someone standing outside the store. The shots did not hit anyone but did damage the store's windows.

According to witnesses, the store's managers rushed employees and customers to the back of the store.

Someone who witnessed the events at Kmart apparently followed a car to a home three miles away on Timberway Circle. The people inside the home initially refused to come out, sparking a police standoff.

Around 4:30 p.m. five people came out of the home. One of the men had a gunshot wound to the arm. Police are not yet sure how they are connected to the gunfire at Kmart but continue to investigate.

OK damnit..this is getting stupid now. I was at home tonight, getting ready to go visit my mother in the hospital. There is a BANGING on my door. Glanced out the peephole, Sig 228 in hand only to see a glint of light off a badge. Holster up the Sig, open the door...there are 4 cop cars on my street...my STREET looking for some jackhead several doors down who was trying to force his way into a womans home today. The wife is under STRICT orders NOT to be out of reach of either her EMP or her 12 gauge no matter what.

I have GOT to find her a holster.

Wow. I used to live right off Tulip Grove road until I moved out here. And I used to work right off Lebanon road. Seems like I just missed all the fun! JK. I grew up in Memphis so I can kinda sympathize with how upset people get when fit starts hitting the shan in their neighborhoods.

Well, I guess I'm not the only one then. I'm having the exact same problem. Everyone's quick to call when the <insert technical item> breaks, but not willing to pay for it when the bill comes......

Anywho, back OT, I haven't gotten to the point yet where I feel Hermitage/Donelson is unsafe, but I definitely keep a firearm within reach.

But I feel safer just about anywhere after living in Memphis.

I've upgraded my nightstand gun(s) from a 12ga to one of the ARs with the Surefire VFG and my rail'ed 1911 with a X300 light, two 10 round mags.

Between that, two Boxers, fenced in back yard and the alarm system....bring it.

And I thought Clarksville was bad. I heard a volley of gunshots behind my house last night, maybe a quarter mile away. Stayed up an hour or so. No blue or red lights. Went back to bed.
