I haven't used these but I've used Berry's which is a very similar product. I think they recommend a load between lead and jacketed. I used the 9 MAK at 1000 fps. with great results. As always, use a starting load and work up.

COOP.

Being that they are resized after receiving .004" plating you will want to be careful about overcrimping and cutting into the plating... I would suggest taper crimping (dillon dies do this) enough to function reliably.

measure a resized case and taper to that measurement or slightly smaller,.or you can use this formula : (the measurements are based on a .45 but you can adjust for your 9)

You can measure the thickness of the brass wall, double it, and then add it to the bullet dia.. The rough formula is: i.e. .010" x 2 = .020" + .451(jacketed) = .471. Remington and Federal SWC heads are .452" ,hence .472". This is not written in stone and in some guns the accuracy difference may not be detectable till you overcrimp and deform the front shoulder.

that will get you back to spec. then you can subtract your amt. I used .003" for all my IPSC rounds and accuracy was stellar however once I set the crimp to .005" or something like that and velocity went up and bullets went sideways @ 30 yds. it was not a good match that day

But you live and you learn... so .003" it is and I always verify measurements on the first few rounds..

Coop, check out precision delta. They seem to have some pretty good bullet prices. I ordered a bunch of primers from Weidners because they were the first I found to have them. Then I found them locally. Even buying in bulk adding a $20 charge for hazardous materials shipping made a big difference. Buying locally skips the charge so you might want to see what you can find here first.

Also, I bought a few different types of bullets locally in slightly smaller quantities. Although I assume I will primarily load 115 gr for 9mm plinking I figured I would try several different types and weights to see what I liked best. Then, I plan on buying larger quantities. Different weights are only a couple $$/1000 different in pricing so if I like 124 gr better it won't make that big of a difference in final loaded round prices.

Some of the bullet mfrs offer better pricing on large quantities so if you are interested maybe we should see if we could split an order of several thousand...

While you're at Reloader's Bench, pick up some Zero 9MM 115 (I use 124's). Great plated bullet, and no shipping charges.

I pick up my press tomorrow from re loaders bench, ordering a scale from Enos, now looking to buy bulk primers and bullets 1000 at a time. I seen these and wanted some opinions on them or any others that the seasoned re loaders would suggest. Thanks!!! COOP

Rainier LeadSafe Bullets 9mm (355 Diameter) 115 Grain Plated Round Nose - MidwayUSA

COOP:_________

I use the 124 (or 125) plated flat noses in my glock 33 for practice. They will clock an honest 1275 FPS (measured with a CHRONY) out of it's short barrel (about 3.1" i think) with zero problems. The precaution about "over crimping" is an excellent one. The Rainier bullets are great. No problems, no leading, good accuracy, excellent performance.

Kind regrds.

Thanks all and great info on over crimping, I think now I'll buy a smaller quantity to start with and them move up to larger quantities!!! COOP

I have had feeding problems with Rainier plated bullets, they are very soft lead under the copper plating, I love them for revolvers however. I have been using Precision polymer coated bullets in my 1911's and .40 Glock for several years and they feed extremely well, the coating makes the bullet as slick butter and they are relatively clean as well. Precision will sell you a small sample pack to test, which is nice because you get to test them in your pistol for little money.

Another +1 for Precision Delta. I have loaded a few thousand of them with zero problems. If you order at least 2,000 shipping is free.

Those Ranier bullets are good bullets...the 124/125 grainers will shoot better and have a better range of reload recipies than the 115 grainers will.

They are among the best of the "big" brands of bulk bullets. 9mm is easy to reload for and any of the well known brands and weights work well....Due to the nature of reloading - word gets around pretty quick if they are crappy.

Don't overcrimp and they will shoot fine in all the guns in your list with no problems.

+1 on zero. I ran 1000 of their .40 through my sig last year without a hitch

note the zero is a jacketed bullet, not plated as mentioned in an earlier post
