Here's the scoop...

>Clip on backstraps - No backstrap = small frame, the two add on ones are naturally medium and small. Attached by a drift pin at the upper portion of the grip. I expect that there will be a ton of aftermarket support for this.

>Dual recoil spring comes standard.

>Little bit of a different texture on the whole gun. Looks like, but not quite, a very fine crinkle coat...but finer texture.

>None of the silly serrations like the RTF

>Mag release is bigger than previous generations.

All and all it seems to be pretty much an evelotion of the previous guns...still has finger grooves, ets. It does say Gen4 on the side with the model number.

Can not tell as the cat isn't "supposed" to be out of the bag until SHOT show. 100% verified however.

Ed's public safety in GA is already selling them.

A couple of weekends ago me and a couple of female friends went to the range and shot a G19 and G23 side by side. I found very little difference in the recoil, and while my friends noticed, they did not think the G23's recoil to be excessive.

I would get a Glock 19. It's just way cheaper to shoot. Like 35% cheaper than .40.

I played with an RTF a couple of months ago and wondered why I have not been seeing them in Gun Shops or online. Are they not going to be produced RTF model and go straight to GEN 4?

Gen4 supposedly has an "improved" RTF finish on it, standard.
