CCing when posting is not as TN says it should be.

I am really glad to see some actual documentation about the signs.

Reading some additional opinions from the Attorney General:

1) A business can't JUST use the circle and slash symbol through a gun.

2) If there is more than one business in a building, the sign must be posted on the entrance to each business, not just the building entrance, unless carrying is prohibited on the entire property.

AND every single entrace to the entire property MUST be posted (ie...parking lot entrances, etc..)

The parking lot doesn't have to be posted, unless the parking lot is to be off-limits as well.

Also "every single entrance" doesn't have to be posted. Only those "primarily used by persons entering the property/building"

In this scenario, "I'm sorry mr. manager pants, I didn't see the sign, didn't know that was your wish's, I apologize, I will leave and take my business elsewhere." Mr. manager pants, "oh No, calling the cops", Me "Ok, fine", as I am walking out the door, they can't detain you, you haven't broken the law, you haven't stolen anything, I bet the manager doesn't really want to detain a person with a gun anyway, but anyway, if the persist, then wait for the cops and file a complaint that they illegally held you against your will. or tell the cop that you didn't know that their store policy was for HCP holders not to carry and that when told, you said that you would leave, but they wouldn't allow it. I think you will be on your way after that. But that is just me.

Conceal your handgun properly and you won't have problems with gray laws that no one understands.

I thought in order for them to be in compliance with the statue, that all entraces must be posted. For example, certain entrances at Rivergate to the mall building itself are posted, and only select entrances into the parking lot are posted. The anchor stores are not posted, and neither are any entrances from the anchor stores into the mall. If they were within total compliance, then I wouldn't go there at all and if I am asked to leave, I would do so. I keep it well concealed, so I don't really think that will ever be an issue. I do like to go to sears for certain things. Not many other places I go to other than sears at the mall. The main place I go to is usually wally world or academy sports. :koolaid:

I want to add to my above post that I only go to the mall if I need to...I get what I need and get out.

Oh...anyone heard of the new movie coming out about the mall guard ? Has the guy from king of queens (sorry can't remember his name, or the name of the movie) as the mall ninja...should be pretty funny.:koolaid:

It doesn't sound like the place you are talking about is compliance.

My points were that the parking lot doesn't have to be posted to prevent carry in the buildings. Also not every entrance has to be posted. Meaning if you find a door that hasn't been opened in years, or is only used by a delivery guy that comes once every two weeks, that wasn't posted, it wouldn't matter if the 4 main ways in to the place were posted. Since the other one is not primarily used to enter the building, even though it can be.

Just a reminder IANAL and this IMO

Right. Out of sight, out of mind. Just go about your business.

I interpret NW.jpg signs to mean: "we don't want to see any guns in here".

I am happy to comply.

Somebody mentioned metal detectors earlier, these would do no good unless there is somebody there to see what caused the metal detector to go off. I made one go off at the court house by the foil in my pack of cigarettes.

I bet everyone that goes through a metal detector will make it go off with their belt buckles, key chains or any number of things, so they're worthless for checking to see if someone is carrying.

BTW, contrary to what I've heard some people say, those things by the doors at the entrances and exits of stores are not metal detectors. They go off when someone tries to shoplift something that hasn't been scanned.

+1 - MTAC or 5.11/Kramer undershirt does wonders for concealment.
