Best Beginners Training?

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey Guys, So as long as nothing comes up, I am hoping to be purchasing my first gun next week(M&P9c). Anyways, I was just wanting some suggestions. I know there are a couple different sponsors that do this, but location is also a key. Where would you guys recommend for the best "bang for the buck"(pun intended :)) for a beginners training course(not HCP class)? Mainly dealing with safety and general gun handling I suppose. I live in Tazewell(hour north of knoxville) so the closer the better, also price is a concern as well. I have looked through the gun course suggestions thread in this seciton, but just looking for some more particular suggestions for what I need. Anyways, Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

A good HCP class should cover all of those things...don't rule them out.

I plan on taking one of these eventually, but I guess i'm just wanting abit more simple something at the moment. This is my first gun, so I'm not quite ready to get my carry permit either as i'm not really planning on carrying it right now.

Thanks anyways though. There has already been a fellow TGO member offer to take me to the range today and "tutor" me on some of these things. This is good because for awhile, i'm gonna be tight on money anyway after buying this gun...haha. Just wanting to get to where I can be abit more comfortable to where I could go out to shoot and practive by myself and not be super nervous.

That's as good a place as any to start...be safe and have fun.
