I tried them on they would not stay put very long. You may want to superglue them to be safe. They dont hold a charge as long as the ad says that they will either....just my experience. I hope that you experience is much better :)

From the website: "The phosphors are Alkaline Earth Metal Compounds doped with Europium"

Sounds just like me in college..

I wonder if using a UV LED VS Standard high power LED would make a differnce the the time the charges held.

I used a Surefire 6P LED on mine. Maybe something with more than 80 Lumens or UV would work better, good question.

The charge on mine would not last "overnight"...an hour or two at best.

Interesting. The sells UV which is like a blacklight I guess. I have one for fishing.

Once I get them I will Try UV and Regular and see if can determine a diiference.

I Havent's RCV'd a comfirmation email that they were sent but I ordered and a comfirmation number popped up and I didn't write it down. I assumed that I would get an email.:D I ordered on the 25th still no email.

I got them today in the mail and install in 15 min.

I agree about using super glue they would not hold good otherwise IMHO.

They are pretty good considering it only cost 15 dollars shipped.

It does make difference in what light you use to charge them up.

A UV blacklight had the best results. They are extremely bright after the first 30 seconds (WOW) from removing the UV. I also tried a 120 lumen Inova flashlight. I would definetly get a UV flashlight with this if you do not have one.

They seem adequate to function after the intial wow brighest wears off. I havent done a timing test but i plan to expose them for a full 2 min I think I read on web site that this was the recommend exposure time to charge the lights properly.

I am pleased with my purchase due to the low cost and functionality of the sights.

I did a timing test using black light and discovered than with the light that i used charging for 5 min the sights glowed for approx 25 min. After 25 minutes you could no longer tell the sight was glowing. I guess for 15 buck this is ok but it will not last 1 to 2 hours and some have said. Most people also carry a flashlight when going to investigate that bump in the night so i guess they would be adequate for a home defense situation.

Thanks for posting. I want to get a set of Nite Sights at some point for my XD but I believe that I'll go with the regular style sights.
