Bit the bullet and bought the Glock..

I avoided it as long as I could.. Finally gave in and bought my first Glock.

I've been looking for a 9mm that I can shoot at the range and carry occasionally - picked up this G26 brick at Guns & Leather today. It fits perfectly in a holster I made for my PT145.

Now I'll have to sell a couple of things to get back my gun fund.

I carry my G26 95% of the time. Super comfortable. I agree with KWE it has some curves in all the right places.

But the upside to it's supposed brickiness is there is nothing to poke, prod or catch on anything.

The G26 is the perfect concealed carry gun.

I see you got the "pinky extension", good choice because they're awkward to shoot without. You may also consider getting the Pachmayr slip on grips for about $10.00 (I have them on my G27) because the pistol is very slick. Add those two things and you have a perfect carry weapon.

Thanks guys - I'm looking forward to trying it out. The TWRA range is closed this week and next - I may have to wait a bit to put some ammo through it.

I'll look into the slip-on grips - that sounds like good advice.

What kind of "work" - anything other than the obvious on the grip?

I'm carrying it around the house today to get used to it, and I really like the way it feels.

I love my 26. I started carrying mine without the extension though. Prints even less that way. Its a great pistol no question about it.

OK - I took the new G26 to the range (G&L) today, put 150 rounds through it, loaded it with Gold Dots, and carried it for the rest of the day.

Still have my arse.

It shot almost perfectly, a shade to the left at 15 yards, right on the money at 25. (Just my getting used to it, probably?) No failures of any kind, very little felt recoil, no problems whatsoever, except I ran out of ammo too fast.

When I got home, my 11 year old field stripped it so I could clean it. Doesn't get any better than that.

It's a keeper.

Awesome choice, it is what I carry 100% of the time. About the pinky extensions, I prefer it without them. Might want to give it a shot, no pun intended, and see if you can get used to not having the extension. It will make it even easier to carry and conceal, at least that has been my experience. YMMV.

I tried it yesterday with and without the pinky extension, and I like shooting it more with it on there. I may keep one mag stock for carry - I'll see how much it sticks out.

I also tried a slip-on grip, but took that off - I like the feel better without it.

Thats cool, to each his own. I don't like the slip on grips either. I tried the bike tire inner tube grip mod as well, and didn't like it because for pocket carry it hung up in my pocket, the rubber was too tacky. I like mine stock as it came, except I replaced my recoil spring with a Wolff guide rod and spring setup because after about 1k rounds and field stripping after every range trip, my stock one started to almost chip around the edges and looked like it may become a problem. I liked the idea of the non captured better anyway, a more simple design. As usual though I'm gonna keep and eye on it and inspect it after every shooting session for any defects or potential problems. Just because it is metal does not mean it won't fatigue and fail, though it looks to be a VERY stout piece.
