The saga ends and the irony of it all

Finally I am out of the grasp of the man.:D:D:D

:D Some of you may recall I was arrested back in June for illegally possessing a weapon with intent to go armed.

My attorney fairly easily convinced the DA here in Knox that I was doing no such thing. Really there was no evidence that I was anyway other than a pistol being in a truck. Well that's here nor there as the charges were dismissed on agreement. Basically that means they had nothing on me and I agreed to that fact.

Anyway I received a court order on Monday to have the evidence released to me. Today I went to the THP branch on Kingston Pk in west Knoxville and was given back two holsters, 13 rounds, 1 magazine and S&W pistol.

Ah the irony of it all. The pistol I was accused of possessing belonged to my nephew. He legally owns the gun and has a valid carry permit from Ohio.

So anyway, I get arrested and have to deal with this crap to prove that the gun was not mine or in my posession on June 16. And what does the great state of Tennessee think should be done with the gun? Well of course they decided that it should be given to me. So now they have given me something they arrested me for having to begin with.

How is that for irony? I am arrested for having a gun, the DA thinks it is a waste of time and not provable and then the judge gives me back the gun that I never possessed in the first place.

Makes me really shake my head and say WTF! :):censored::rofl:

Thank the public school system for this entire episode, Mike. I was just today wondering if you got that gun back. And gratz on getting your gun back, not that it's yours, that is. :) Um, well gratz for not possessing that gun that they gave you back to now possess.

Congratulations, Mike. Now how about giving Mike back the money he had to spend to defend himself. Any retribution for bogus arrests?

So this goes down as being one of the most expensive Smith & Wesson firearms that you've never owned... right?

Actually it is a Sigma, lol. I can be thankful that I was cleared, the situation is over and that I was given a friends and family discount by my attorney.

I am not a wealthy person by any definition but I also wonder what would have come of me if I had not been able to scrape up 1500 bucks to pay my lawyer to handle this. Potentially this offense carried jail time up to 11 months and 29 days along with a hefty fine and of course loss of being able to have a carry permit and the right to own firearms.

No doubt it is the most expensive pistol I will never own. But I figured I did pay rent on it so I am going to shoot it up this weekend.
