And here is a piece of advise that was given to me.

When I went to go ask her father for his blessing he sat me down for a talk. ( I know old fashion but hey that's me. )

Him- Do you know what it takes to make a marriage work son?

Me - Yes Sir, both have to give, it has to be 50 - 50.

Him - So you are saying you are only going to give 50% of you to my little girl.

Me - uh uh uh

Him - If all you are willing to give my daughter is 50% then I cant let her go. Marriage is not 50 - 50, it will never work unless both give 100%....

The conversation continued from that point, but I have to say it was the best advise I have ever received.

Watch out though, that "not a big wedding" can turn into a massive affair when her mom gets involved. It happened to everyone I know including me, lol. Just nod your head and say "whatever you want, honey" It will be good practice for after the wedding.
