Theres 6000 members on this site. No reason why we couldnt get 50 to come out and shoot, right?

I would be impressed if you get 25 members out to shoot a match. Most people like the idea of it but don't, won't, can't seem to make it a priority....

I think for the most part, the TGO crowd are non competitive shooters. This board seems like it has more of the casual plinkers and/or defensive carry types. No disrespect to those guys but thats just the way it seems. For those of you in Knoxville,Oak Ridge,Loudoun and surrounding counties, get your butts out to ORSA and start competeing. No excuses such a "I don't have an expensive gun" or "I will embarass myself". As long as caliber is 9mm or larger you are good to go. Gun, holster, 4-5 mags and a couple of double mag pouches and your set to shoot USPSA,IDPA and Steel Challenge. Add an AR and shotgun and play 3G/Multigun.

+1,

Besides we are scattered all over the state, ORSA has a great range and hosts IDPA, IPSC, Cowboy action, etc. I belong to CHRPC in Cleveland we have IDPA, 3-Gun, and Cowboy action. These matches are open to the public and cost $10.00 each match to shoot. Everyone is welcome including of course TGO members. Chattanooga Rifle Club has several match days including blackpowder events etc. There are plenty of places to compete and have fun all over our part of the country, if you want to give it a try you will be made more than welcome. TGO is a great forum and a nice place to learn about shooting, guns, reloading etc. and I have met some very fine folks through here, but if you want to compete get out to your nearest range and go for it! :)

I have extended an offer to TGO David for an event to take place at 990 Coon Creek Road in Dickson TN as part of Music City Tactical Shooters in an IDPA format. If you are not familiar with IDPA setup and rules, we will go into extensive detail prior to the match. We will setup and break down.

Now there is no more excuses but a date in mind. When do you want to shoot?
