My Collection (maximum gun porn)

Hey folks - I have finally managed to get some pictures of my collection. While some of these aren't as "complete" as others, I've still got a ton, and would like to share.

Keep in mind, that I love to show my firearms in multiple shots, in order to accentuate the various parts of a finely-crafted gun. By giving a closer look at a particular firearm, one can appreciate its construction, design, and characteristics inherent to the gun as a whole.

Here is the first (and worst) of the bunch. Please excuse the pictures - these were rushed and unfortuntately don't do justice to the gun, a 1962 Colt 1911 with low round count. This has been a working weapon, and was carried for a few years (a long time ago).

Up next is a Dan Wesson, purchased off of a board member here on TGO. I love this firearm - it shoots well, handles well... basically does everything well.

This next one is special. Jeff at Hero Gear did this one for me, and did quite an awesome job. It started out as a Springfield Mil-Spec, and now holds parts from Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, Cylinder & Slide, and Hero Gear. I love the trigger, it carries well, and is super-aggressive. Basically my own Springfield TRP, but built the way in which I'd like to build one. Checkering is 20LPI, and grips are VZ (and are aggressive, too). Wear gloves with this one, on the range. :)

Here is the little Sig that I just picked up. Carry Compact. I love this gun, too. Shoots well, easily carried, etc.

Sorry, only two shots of that little guy. Another favorite (and a love-affair, it seems, as I shoot this one as much as I can) is my Smith and Wesson Pro 9, 1911 - in 9mm. Accurate, tack-driving fun. This gun MAKES anyone a great shot.

Ok, this one was more of a joke (but cool at the same time). This is a Para SSP Limited in Stainless. The grips are Carbon Creations, patterned in Kevlar (in order to match something that's kind of bizarre, honestly, which I'll show in a second). Enjoy.

And here's why I wanted them - because they match an accessory in my other love (a car). Matching seats and grips - how nerdy...

Alright, finally getting to the workhorse - my M&P .45, in 4", full-size grip. I love this gun... carries like a 1911, fun to shoot, etc. You've all seen a ton of these, so I'll keep this one limited to two images.

Thanks for looking, and hope that you all enjoy. Any comments, etc. are always welcome. I wish that I honestly had some more time to shoot, but these were done off-tripod, under basic lighting (tungsten), and some guns didn't receive the attention that they should have, compared to others (the Colt). If anyone would like to know anything, please feel free to ask.

Hahaha nice collection...didnt know you were a Supra owner(the factory sub is a dead-giveaway)! I had a 93tt auto, and a 97tt 6spd....now i got a cobra, but I still love those cars. Is yours BPU, singled, etc? Oh yeah...nice guns too!

Hey man - yeah, I've been a Supra owner since 2001... this is my second. It's a 1997 Black/Black 6-speed car, singled with a 67DBB, 264s, fuel, and Carbon/Carbon. I am probably the biggest Toyota parts hoarder that I know of, honestly.

Thanks for the comment on the guns, too!

I have shot all of these guns....can't hide money. Moody has a excellent taste in weapons. We need to go to the range very soon, I have a new weapon to try out also.

Call me when you get off work today.

 ^ Ok, Jon - not a problem - I will give you a ring later today.

How do you like the Spool on the 67? My friends got a 97 and hes looking to do some upgrading(bpu car). Is it the newer precision turbo?

The spool is great - perfect for the street (or the road course, where I use it). I run 110 leaded, and mostly run just 19-20psi. I had the car on 25psi, and it was a ball buster - it hit hard and kept on pulling to 8,000RPMs, but was honestly a little much for the street. Right now I'd recommend your friend to get a Precision 6265 or the like (the new ones), and put that thing on race gas and see what happens. He could expect 600 or around there, any day of the week (and that's on stock valvetrain).

Great collection you have there! What kind of grips are on your Dan Wesson? I love the look of those. The kevlar is not a bad look either!

Thanks for the compliments. As far as the grips - they are VZ 320s, in Green/Black linen. You can find them online at VZgrips.com

Thanks fellas. Yeah, I did try my hardest, but didn't have the lighting available, as well as a decent tripod, so I just free-handed it, adjusted my F-stop (although with a tilt/swing, it's beneficial to shoot higher than F4, which is where these were mostly shot), and then adjusted for exposure.

Good work.

Build your own light box man. They are cheap to build and you will be amazed at the results. Do you have a Macro lens?

I have some great forum links for building your own light box if you want them.

Thanks Dave... ha ha, the funny (ironic) part is, is that I'm an out-of-work professional photographer, that doesn't have any equipment (besides two lenses, a Nikon Nikor P1 Tilt/Swing, and your typical 80-200 from years ago). I had to borrow an older D100 to shoot these, and then realized that I didn't have any lighting, nor any cards, etc... I am slowly getting back into shooting, and one day will be doing it professionally (again, full-time hopefully), but I would love to have that link for building a light box. I regret selling all of my studio equipment in 2005, bigtime.

I use canon stuff so the Canon Forum is a great resource for me.

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/index.php

But they have a Do It Yourself section that doesn’t just apply to Canon. There are a bunch of good projects there.

Here’s a thread on building your own light box…

And someone didn’t want to wade through the 3600 :) posts in the above thread so they started a new one.

Thanks Dave (again!). There's some great reading in that thread... it really makes me more motivated to get back into the photography game fulltime.
