What's in a name? HCP, CP, WP, WCP?

So when I moved to Nashville and was inquiring about HCP I naively made the mistake of asking can I carry long guns/shotties with a HCP? To which I usually got the smart Alec response, "It's called a HANDGUN permit for a reason!"

So to all those helpful folks out there, now that we can carry long guns/shotties is our permit now referred to as a Weapons Carry Permit or what? Just saying.

Well, YOU can't carry a loaded long gun - only your vehicle is allowed to do that.

Even inanimate objects have some rights that we do not.

In your vehicle, but the chamber must be empty. The mag can be loaded.

Well, sort of. If you have a HCP you can carry a loaded, but not chambered long gun in your vehicle without restriction.

In your vehicle if you are a HCP holder. The long gun can have a full magazine, but cannot have a chambered round unless/until you use it for self defense.
