Hey Guys,

Does anyone know where to find legit information on Oklahoma's Carry Permit. Friends out there said just keep it concealed but I'd rather read something official. It is a mess trying to get through the .gov website.

Thanks,

Concealed Carry Licenses Honored by Oklahoma

Per Oklahoma Title 21 § 1290.26, the State of Oklahoma "recognizes any valid concealed carry weapons permit or license issued by another state. The license must be issued by the state and must be carried fully concealed from detection and view..." (SDA Law Book, Nov. 2007). To read the entire statute,

I remember Oklahoma had one hell of a DA years ago. Kind of a modern day Wyatt Earp, to exaggerate a bit. I wish there were more like him in Tennessee... well, everywhere for that matter.

Macy angered a lot of criminals in his 21 years as district attorney but he said he doesn’t worry about his safety. He did think a recently released former death row inmate might seek him out. He said he decided “I’m not going to change my lifestyle for some punk ... who should have been executed.â€

“I’ve got a rifle upstairs that has a good powerful scope on it. I’ve got several weapons. If anybody tries to get in here, they may get in but they may have a hell of a time getting out,†Macy said. “I figure all the time they’ve been in prison they haven’t been shooting and I shoot ... several times a year.â€

About the only time you can openly carry a handgun in Oklahoma is when taking part in outdoor activities like hunting or target shooting...those without licenses (it's been a while since i've been there) may even have to openly carry when hunting. You MAY be able to openly carry in the car...but not sure...I always concealed it. Read up on their state laws though....also a lot of OK is tribal land....so you probably can't carry at a casino or bingo hall in OK because it is usually owned by a tribe.
