I've been very happy with mine so far. Don't trust aftermarket mags.

Love mine. Really accurate. Just be careful manually de-cocking it it, if you chose to carry it DA/SA rather than locked SA.

You will love it. I do. Then you get a Makarov, and the beat goes on. The CZ-82 and the Makarov are perfect shooting guns for their age and the shell. I don't carry them, but love to shoot 12.50 a box ammo!

I got mine less than $10, shipped.

Care to share that source? :)

Fine gun - I have 3 of 'em - went C&R crazy :). Grip fits my hand better than any gun I own.

Carry mine decocked, just block the hammer with my left thumb between hammer and striker, before pulling the trigger, then release trigger before dropping hammer the rest of the way - of course always with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

Easier than it sounds, and almost foolproof. ;)

Aim has good prices on Silver Bear. Also Ammunition to Go, but shipping from TX is costly.

My wife took mine, so I had to buy another. Both have been accurate and reliable.

NOTE - The bore has polygon rifling like a Glock, so it looks like a smoothbore!!!

Cheaper Than Dirt. Brown Bear ammo.

I juust checked, they are currently out of Brown Bear, they do have Wolf however, slightly higher, but would be around $11 with shipping. Ammunition to go is about the same price wise, both around 2 days shipping time.

I have used both, and both work fine in my CZ-82. But then, they were made to shoot cheap ammo.

I thought the polygonal/hexagonal(?) rifling would be a bad mix with cheap ammo

The bullets are still copper jacketed. Works fine. My '82 loves the Silver Bear and dispenses it quite accurately.

I was thinking the wolf lacquer crap might be bad for it, but I guess the poly would be ok?

Never tried the Wolf lacquer stuff but the poly (Silver Bear) works fine. With the authority that little gun ejects cartridges I'm sure it's not a problem.

Garufa's CZ82 is the absolute nicest C&R weapon I have ever seen. Looks like it was virtually brand spanking new.

Thanks. That is a good price. Don't know why I never check CTD.

MIne eats both just fine too.

I've got 500 silver bear coming from Ammunition to Go. Sounds like the CZ 82 ejects brass like the CZ 52. (Another great C&R pistol btw)

I can tell you why ARKO...the same reason I dont buy from them anymore. When Obama-mania hit they incited fear-mongering and ammo hoarding and jacked their prices through the moon...anyone remember their $79 20rd boxes of FMJ .380? F*ck those bastards.

I was in our local gun store duting that time. Guy was checking CTD prices on .380 and told his boss the cost. His response.

"CHEAPER THAN DIRT? EXPENSIVE AS

Received the pistol yesterday, cleaned her up and had it out to the range today. What a fun, accurate little shooter :pleased:. Field stripping is easy, I hadn't seen a pistol that breaks down like the 82 (I am told PPK's and Markovs have the same take down design).

Thanks for everyone's comments, I will have fun with my CZ 82 for years to come.

Money well spent.

I know someone who bought 3 of them. It was sheer luck but the guns are police turn-ins, not military. The poolice guns came with real nice well made heavy leather holsters with separate magazine pouch so the finish was not dinged up like the military pistols where the Mag was inside of the holster bang on the gun constantly.

The 2 Mags supplied with each pistol looked brand new, one of the pistols had seen little or no holster time, and both of the others were in the 95% or better range.

All three survived a quick and dirty 50 round function test.

Ten yard ten shot groups were adequate.

Oh, the penetration on a wet consolidated clay bank was surprising, something on the order of 12.5 inches as I remember his tests.

Not a 45, but I wouldn't mind having one when someone needed to be stopped before they hurt ya and if worse came to worse, shot.
