Is it possible to fish the river from a boat and if so where is there access? There's several bridges that go over the river and it appears that it's deep enought and wide enought to take a flat bottom boat through it. Just wondering if its possible? And, has anyone done it? Thanks..

Welcome to the site and yes it is possible to slide a jon boat in.As far as the fishing it will be mainly rough fish in that rear,to much runoff from the fields around the river.Hope this helps.

contact the TWRA Regional office in Jackson.

They build a lot of the access ramps to the rivers across the state also.

Check the Department of Environment and Conservation web site for fish consumption advisories Should be in the Water Pollution Control part of the site.

Don't know what you fish for but I think you might have better luck just up the road about 40 minutes or so at hatchie river....great river access and also some real good oxbow lakes. I live in Memphis and dont have a boat but have fished a couple of lakes up there from bank.
