I just tried a box of Federal Premium Tactical in 12 ga.

Excellent pattern for home defence.

Has anyone tried them?

No, but I tried one shot of Winchester 3" Magnum 00 buck out of my 870 Police Magnum today. At 25 yards with modified choke all 15 (yes 15) pellets hit a small paper plate.

Would not want to be on the business end of that!

BTW, I might have about 4 rounds to sell. That stuff is brutal to shoot!

At the agency I used to work for we switched to the Federal rounds after some testing. They are impressive.

I did a lot of patterning over the last few months. The federal performed 2nd best for me in my gun. Hornady TAP did best for me. Both did better than several higher end types.
