We got about 5 - 6" at my house. Lower Sevierville didnt get much. It was wierd though, I left work and it was raining, picked up my daughter and continued home. Then all of a sudden I hit what seemed like an invisible wall, there was snow everywhere and coming down like mad.

Ok maybe it is because I am from the desert but what is the deal with this "bread and milk" thing. People always say get bread and milk and I have no idea why? If it threatens snow the stores are packed with people and low on supplies. I really dont participate in the panic, I just happened to be at a store once before they were calling for snow.

It's a strange thing that happens all over the south, people freak out and think that they are going to be "snowed in" for many days and that the world shuts down when 3" of snow is foretasted and there will be a shortage of food. So they rush to the stores and buy up all the bread and milk (even if they don't normally eat that stuff) among other staple items, to have for the event.

The reality is that for the most part, you are not "stuck" at your home, you already have plenty of food (You just might not "prefer" it), or if you are stuck, by the afternoon or next day you will not be. The exception to these rules are ice storms, which do happen and then this scenario could last a few days rather than a day or so. Of course there is the epic ice storms that happen every year, where an area gets hammered and if you are in that area, you might be out a week, and that is pushing it.

If snow is forecasted, I do fill up with gas....got to have enough to go out and donuts before it all melts!
