Sig P238

I don't own one, but have handled them in a few shops. I was considering getting one, but ended up getting an LCP instead. I just didn't think the weight justified the gun. 15.2 oz vs. 9.4 oz for the Ruger. That may not seem like much, but that's 62% heavier. I carry everyday in a pocket holster and this makes a difference.

I do like the actual sights on the 238 vs. the groove the LCP and 3AT have, but will have my Crimson Trace for the LCP next week, so this issue is eliminated.

The other thing that concerned me was the manual safety combined with being a pocket gun!!

We have one. seems ok. I am used to my rather large .45's so it feels 'toyish' to me. My husband has fired it more than I have and is actually cleaning it as I write this as he went out and fired it today. I will be sure to remind him about this thread so he can let you know his thoughts.

Very pleased with my Sig p238. Took it to the range a few weeks ago and shot 50 round without any problems. Very accurate for a gun its size. Fits nicely into a back pocket or iwb. I love the single action and the fact you can clear the chamber without taking off the safety. Got mine at Academy Sports in Nashville for $430.00 last month.

I have to join in and say I love the P238. For me it is a good carry size. And shoots very well. Id buy it even if it wasnt a Sig.

But then I do love 99% of all Sigs.

I carry it in an Don Hume pocket holster and I forget it's there.

When I first shot it my group was all over the place. Like most, I am used to full size weapons, but I adapted quickly, and adjusted my grip. It is a real good shooter. Today I shot from 7 yards and had a -1in group. Mine has Sig Night Sites and Rosewood grips, I gave about 550.00 +tax. I love it. It breaks down like a 1911

Really enjoy mine, shoots great and haven't had one FTF (though I haven't put too many rounds through it). Slips right in my front or back pocket. In my back pocket it just looks like a wallet. If you're looking at getting a pocket .380, you cannot go wrong with this gun.

I played with one of these recently and was really surprised... it's actually quite strange to have a decent trigger on a pocket gun, just expect a long double action like usual. Really is a re-badged Colt Mustang which I like 'cause I may be the only shooter on the planet who doesn't like Sigs.

My only concerns are the practicality of the little safety on the little gun, IMO under stress could be real easy to miss or fumble with, plus I hate having to track down .380 to practice with... now if it came in 9mm, I'd already own one...

If I saw one at a decent price used I wouldn't be able to resist.

Mine was done a good while ago. I imagine the pistols that this related to have mostly been updated. All that was done/added to the gun was a little button plunger under the thumb safety to give it more resistance between the on and off position. No big deal at all.

I had two Ruger LCPs....now I own two Sigs. The Ruger is NOT nearly as accurate as the Sigs. You can actually shoot the Sig at the range and it not wear your hand out...so you get some real practice *that is if you find ammo*.

This gun got me looking at pocket guns...saw it at Guns and Gear, at the Outpost booth...nice gun..especially in the titanium finish...but when compared to other 380 pocket guns its a little on the high side from a price stand point ($500-700 MSRP)

Took my P238 back to the range today and 50rds through it with out any problems. Then shot some Hornady Critical Defense. Sweet!
