My achin head is that thing big! Just as the other thread this really may as well be like winning a lottery in some respect. Both will now have tv, magazine articles, news stories, and huge money offers.

It is very evident where the big deer come from in this country. I don't know whether it was the size of the rack on this one that made it hard to guage body weight but it doesn't look like it weighed more than 185 or 190 dressed.

CRP Field

CRP stands for conservation reserve program, basically the government pays you a certain amount of money per acre not to plant crops. It was originally started as a way to keep from flooding the market with food, artificially keeping food prices higher so farmers could afford to farm. The conservation aspect of the program has been a real boon to wildlife, both huntable and nonhuntable species. Recently, it has become the primary goal of the program. A lot of people refer to any field that has been allowed to become overgrown with natural cover (weeds, native grasses, etc) as CRP fields. Regardless, the cover is important for all wildlife.
