Question about Rifle Range?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question but I'm looking for a rifle range in Middle TN that has at least 200-300 yds open to the public. My 223 and 308 are crying for something more than 100 yds :poop:

Thanks!

The Stones River Hunter Education Center has two lanes for 200 yard shooting. But you have to "qualify" first, which means making a 3 shot 2 inch group at 100 yards. (This only has to be done once).

Thanks guys for the feedback. The range near Clarksville looks great. Since I live close to Cookeville the Stones River Hunter Education Center sounds good but when I checked the web site it says:

Ranges

Firearms must be cased and unloaded. Also, ear and eye protection is required.

  • 50-foot range (30 positions, including 2 wheelchair accessible positions)
  • 50-yard range (20 positions)
  • 100-yard range (18 positions, including 1 wheelchair accessible position)
  • 6 target sight-in archery range
  • 16 station archery walk-through course

jimidigriz, it didn't list a 200yd position? Someone else also told me it was 200yds. Any way I can find out for sure without driving over there from Cookeville?

I've been there--the 200 yd range does exist. And you do have to qualify with 3 shots @ 100 yds before you can shoot on it.

The TWRA range in Southside, Montgomery County is the nicest range I have ever used. It has 400,200,100, and 50 yd ranges and I believe 50 yd ranges in between like 150,250, 350yds. I'm not too sure of the intermediate ranges. There is also an ATV you can use to go to the targets. This is a first class range. Cost is 5.00 or 5.50. It also has a pistol range of different ranges.
