Just in: Picked this little guy up at the Mid-South Guns and Gear Expo, and was happy to attend the show as well - outstanding job, David and Joe!

Anyways, this little Sig 1911 Compact Carry was just sitting there and after bitching, moaning, and ****-talking with my best friend Mike :P (Outpost Armory), I got this little guy for a great deal. Has factory Novaks (nights), and the usual amenties that Sig puts into every pistol that they make - great fit, quality pieces, etc...

Here you all go, for some gun porn. Pardon the pictures - still working on a camera phone, here.

Here are some specs on it, for those interested (just a link)

I honestly believe the SIG 1911 is one of the more under appreciated things that SIG has produced. They seem to be really well built, and if there's one thing that SIG knows how to do, it's make an external extractor work.

Maybe it's just me but what makes it a "compact"??? Looks full sized to me.....

It's hard to tell from Moody's myspace camera angles, but I think that model has the Officer frame which is shorter in the grip than the Govt model.

I played with it...it's smaller than a regular 1911

Sigs "Compact" is only about 3/4 in shorter in Overall Height and right at an inch shorter in Overall Length VS their full size.

But yes the image shown here is a Compact.

Yeah... right. Although, I will say that I got to handle a few of them 'thangs this weekend. Then, I handled my trusty M&P. Yup - same sentiments.

Thanks for all of the comments - I have a BIG photo thread that I'm planning on posting, with more gun porn than you can shake a stick at (and some hardware/up close shots of various guns, too). I am going to finish up tonight and get them all online.

Yup - and that's what made it a seller for me. I wanted a a Commander-length slide, and the shorter frame made it a perfect purchase. I've already shot it, and I will say - it's wonderful. Accurate, easy to take down, and haven't had any problems.
