, but Ingram performed at a high level in the biggest games, against he best defenses in the country, while playing the second toughest schedule in the country and sharing carries in what is likely the deepest backfield in the country. He deserves it as much as anyone, as the Heisman voters already attested.

I do not buy into the Heisman being a team award, it is an individual thing.

what kind of politics? just about every sports reporter outside of alabama bashes them on a regular basis. they get no love as a team.

I haven't really seen Alabama bashed by the national media this year. Even Saban, who the media has been pretty harsh with in the past(and rightly so IMO), has been treated pretty well this year.

In my opinion, and it's just that- an opinion, Ingram won this award for two reasons: 1) Alabama, as one of the most storied programs in NCAA history, was long overdue for a Heisman Trophy and 2) because of his solid, though not spectacular, performance against Florida(who the national media loves most of all).

Ingram only faced 1 top 40 rushing defense all year and that was Florida. Gerhart faced 4 Top 40 rush defenses and I believe 6 Top 50's. While I agree that Ingram had a great game against Florida I believe Gerhart's performances against Cal, USC, and ND were far better. He was the clear choice IMO and it wasn't even close.
