I hope I am putting this in the right place.... I just purchased one of these new and love it. Luckily I live in Greenbrier and Guns and Leather likes my money for the range... what a great place and good folks. Here is my question.... I got a the paddle holster for it but I dont think it does a real good job for concealment. I wanted to see if anyone else had any other suggestions.....maybe IWB?

I carry my XD40 in this $30 rig every day.

Occasionally the Comp-Tac MTAC.

I often carry in the plastic paddle in the colder months when I can cover in a sweatshirt or coat.

Thanks for your quick reply...I was looking at that one....one more question....at what position to you carry it?

I'm a lefty, so I'll have to translate...

After I've moved around all day, it ends up "naturally" falling at about 8:00, which would be 4:00 on a right-handed fellow.

Also look into a Don Hume J.I.T. belt slide holster. I've had one of those and the 715 for at least two years, wearing one of them every day. They're still in perfect functioning shape. For $30, you can't beat that!

And by the way, don't assume "costly = functionality." I have a drawer full of $80 holsters that I can't stand. So, carry in a $30 rig for a while before you get serious about the high-dollar ones.

Thanks.... good feedback...I am not the smallest of fellas. Not to be interpreted as tall B). Accompany that with I am a little particular about things and holster pickin' gets tough.

Thanks again!

I'm 6'6" and 350 lbs. How's that for perspective?B)

For some reason, the DH715 is the most comfortable way for me to go as far as IWB goes. I choose to belt-carry or OWB as much as possible.

Congrats on the XD. I'm a huge fan of that platform. I have the XD40 SubCompact and a XD45 Service model.

enough said.... sounds like the Don Hume holster will work good for me too:p. I just looked at the belt slide and like it too.... Glad to hear you have had some good success with them. I think I will give it a try as well.

What about cross breed mini tucks? I was thinking about getting one of those.

One of the most popular holsters out there, if you like Kydex/leather combo.

Referring to the SuperTuck, that is...I don't think the MiniTuck is offered for any XD?

I have a Kahr Pm9 and it fits the mini-tuck (but barely). Doubt the XD would pull it off but who knows. The fully size supertuck is really not that much bigger so I don't think it will too much of an issue getting the full size. I always carry in appendix position and love it. It does not print at all and I can get a faster draw from that position.

Experiment and find out what works best for you.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Chattanooga had the XD 9 and .40 compacts on sale last week for $419. Maybe I should have picked that .40 up?
