I call BS on the 65% "overweight" stat. They changed the definiton 10 or so years ago. I'd have to start smoking crack to get down to what the gubmint says is the "correct" weight for my height - and even then it would be iffy. I remember when they changed the #s because I was in GREAT shape but the new "standard" said I was 35 pounds overweight.

The Federal government wants you "skinny" so that you die quicker if you get really sick. No reserves for the body to draw upon. Fits right in with Obama Health Care.

As a lot of us have noticed, it gets harder to selectively loose weight in certain portions of our body's after about 40-45 years old.

Yeah I call BS on the stats, I remember in the army when they were doing the BMI calculations that over half our unit was overweight according to the data. They eventually figured out that the neck measurements should also be taken into consideration for muscle mass otherwise anyone who could bench over 150 or do 100+ push ups would be overweight.

Funny, but it's true....well as far as loosing reserves.

When I had my wreck, I got down to around 155 lbs after not eating for damn near 4 weeks while in the hospital.

Went in weighing somewhere between 220-225.

Considering that sizable difference in wieght before and after, had I weighed a "normal healthy" amount beforehand, I'd been in some deep doodoo after no food intake....if not dead.
