I couldn't pass it up today.

I've heard of many getting the Wilson mag for these? Why?

Also, any more recommendations.? Thanks!

Conrats, nothing better than a new 1911, Wilson makes a much better more reliable magazine. I had the same gun as you several years ago the polymer feed ramps of the Wilson mag will not hurt your alloy framed Kimber as the metal feed-ramp magazines can do, they are worth the extra money that they cost, also I carried Cor Bon Powerball in mine, that little 1911 loved it

Also recommend the Wilson magazines. They're just a lot better quality than most and are typically priced very reasonably.

Congrats on the new Kimber.

Wilson mags seem to function smoother and feed smoother than any other out there. Their poly follower is simply sweet. I had 3 with my Kimber Pro Carry....

I've always had great luck with McCormic mags as well with 1911's though I usually kept them for range use......

Congrats! I am ordering Wilson's myself, one of my Kimber mags has had feed problems right out of the box.

Correction... MY Kimber mag has had a feed problem right out of the box! When we bought this gun (Pro Carry II .45) we had many problems with it but Kimber was good enough to rework the gun and now everything is fine with the exception of the feed from this one magazine. I don't have the Wilson mag for it yet but as you said, I hear that it is the way to go. Congrats on your purchase. I hope you enjoy it!

That guns a beauty, congratulations! i will chime in and say im not a fan of Kimber mags either, though I have had good luck with metal form and McCormick...im thinking about trying some of the C-Products mags too.

Wilson mags are nice. I have more stainlessKimber mags than Wilson. I've never had a problem with them. I have had several McCormick mags that have failed in my 1911. I prefer the stainless Kimber mags to the blue. They seem to feed better.

I've used both mags. I like and recommend the Wilson. They have a nylon follower vs. metal on Kimber, Chip McCormick. I like the idea that there is not metal to metal contact.

Once you get the Wilson, you will see the difference. If you don't like, you won't have a problem selling.
