Looking at this .45 pretty hard. I have handled one but never fired it.

If anybody owns and carrys this model I would like to hear your opinion. Thinking specifically about IWB tucked under dress shirts. Maybe a Crossbreed or similar.

Get it. I owned one and absolutely loved it. I sold it but only to fund another Kimber. The recoil is very managable, and I carried mine easily in a KHolster (IWB paddle holster)

I love Kimber's Ultra 1911's. Reliable and accurate, never once had an issue.

I've got the Ultra Crimson Carry II and love it. Recoil is very manageable. Only 1 FTF and that was at round 294 on the first day of shooting, with the factory mag and it was a very dirty gun. No other problems since and its very easy to conceal. Pick up some better mags for it. I like the Kimber KimPro TACMags. I just wish I had the cash to pick up a big brother to it.

Good choice on the pistol and holster(Crossbreed Supertuck),I had an Ultra CDP II that was not very reliable, but I think I was one of the few that received a problem right from the get go,I now carry nothing but Commander size 1911's,they are both very reliable.I have a Kimber TLE/RL II thats very reliable(hasn't malfunctioned at all),they do make very nice pistols.

Nice to look at, but you have to practice a lot with that caliber in such a short barrel to be proficient.

I started to buy one. For the price they are a great package.

However, I wanted my Kimber Eclipse Ultra II. It is solid SS ( heavier than the one your looking at) and is extremely comfortable to carry. My Glock G26 has gone to my wife. I was also warned about these short barrel 1911's being hard to master. I suggest you try one because I am more accurate with mine than I am my Ruger Single Six .22 revolver.

As for FTF the Kimber mags are probably the one thing I don't like. I use Wilson Combat and have never had a problem.

Good luck! 1911's are an obsession.
