P220 Combat TB or P226 Combat TB

My next "big" purchase I would like to be one or the other. Whats your guys opinions on the .45 vs the 9mm. Eventually I will put a suppressor on whichever I go with. I know I dont need anything that is super corrosion resistant but I find them both really cool. Don't plan on carrying either one, just a range toy. ;) btw I can get a slightly used P220 TB Combat for $850

If you are going to put a can on it I would go with the P220. That way you can just shoot regular .45 ammo and not have to worry about finding sub-sonic 9mm. Plus I just like the P220's more than the P226's.

I recently purchased a P226, West German 9mm. I thought my P6 and P228 were smooth shooters until I took the P226 to the range last weekend and WOW, the P226 has a very low recoil in 9mm!!! I assume because it's a full size alloy frame and almost feels under powered in 9mm to me. I'm thinking on trading it for a P226 in .357 Sig to utilize it's full potential. I've shot the P220 and like it and I still want one but for now I've gotten away from .45 cal due to the frustration on finding ammo in that caliber.. COOP

Coop I had a P226 in 40 and .357 (had both barrels), I didnt try the .357, but the .40 was definitely a pleasure to shoot, rediculous accurate and even less recoil then my P229...definitely a range gun though....those P226's are big indeed.
