WHAT IF 20 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS VACATED AMERICA?

By Frosty Wooldridge

Tina Griego, journalist for the Denver Rocky Mountain News wrote a column titled, "Mexican visitor's lament" -- 10/25/07.

She interviewed Mexican journalist Evangelina Hernandez while visiting Denver last week. Hernandez said, "They (illegal aliens) pay rent, buy groceries, buy clothes...what happens to your country's economy if 20 million people go away?"

That's a good question – it deserves an answer. Over 80 percent of Americans demand secured borders and illegal migration stopped. But what would happen if all 20 million or more vacated America? The answers may surprise you!

In California, if 3.5 million illegal aliens moved back to Mexico, it would leave an extra $10.2 billion to spend on overloaded school systems, bankrupted hospitals and overrun prisons. It would leave highways cleaner, safer and less congested. Everyone could understand one another as English became the dominate language again.

In Colorado, 500,000 illegal migrants, plus their 300,000 kids and grand-kids – would move back "home," mostly to Mexico. That would save Coloradans an estimated $2 billion (other experts say $7 BIL) annually in taxes that pay for schooling, medical, social-services and incarceration costs. It means 12,000 gang members would vanish out of Denver alone.

Colorado would save more than $20 million in prison costs, and the terror that those 7,300 alien criminals set upon local citizens. Denver Officer Don Young and hundreds of Colorado victims would not have suffered death, accidents, rapes and other crimes by illegals.

Denver Public Schools would not suffer a 67 percent drop out/flunk out rate via thousands of illegal alien students speaking 41 different languages. At least 200,000 vehicles would vanish from our gridlocked cities in Colorado. Denver's four percent unemployment rate would vanish as our working poor would gain jobs at a living wage.

In Florida, 1.5 million illegals would return the Sunshine State back to America, the rule of law and English.

In Chicago, Illinois, 2.1 million illegals would free up hospitals, schools, prisons and highways for a safer, cleaner and more crime-free experience.

If 20 million illegal aliens returned "home"

If 20 million illegal aliens returned "home," the U.S. economy would return to the rule of law. Employers would hire legal American citizens at a living wage. Everyone would pay their fair share of taxes because they wouldn't be working off the books. That would result in an additional $401 billion in IRS income taxes collected annually, and an equal amount for local state and city coffers.

No more push '1' for Spanish or '2' for English. No more confusion in American schools that now must content with over 100 languages that degrade the educational system for American kids. Our overcrowded schools would lose more than two million illegal alien kids at a cost of billions in ESL and free breakfasts and lunches.

We would lose 500,000 illegal criminal alien inmates at a cost of more than $1.6 billion annually. That includes 15,000 MS-13 gang members who distribute $130 billion in drugs annually would vacate our country. In cities like L.A., 20,000 members of the "18th Street Gang" would vanish from our nation. No more Mexican forgery gangs for ID theft from Americans! No more foreign rapists and child molesters!

Losing more than 20 million people would clear up our crowded highways and gridlock. Cleaner air and less drinking and driving American deaths by illegal aliens!

Drain on America's economy; taxpayers harmed, employers get rich

Over $80 billion annually wouldn't return to their home countries by cash transfers. Illegal migrants earned half that money untaxed, which further drains America's economy – which currently suffers an $8.7 trillion debt.

At least 400,000 anchor babies would not be born in our country, costing us $109 billion per year per cycle. At least 86 hospitals in California, Georgia and Florida would still be operating instead of being bankrupted out of existence because illegals pay nothing via the EMTOLA Act. Americans wouldn't suffer thousands of TB and hepatitis cases rampant in our country—brought in by illegals unscreened at our borders.

Our cities would see 20 million less people driving, polluting and grid locking our cities. It would also put the "progressives" on the horns of a dilemma; illegal aliens and their families cause 11 percent of our greenhouse gases.

Over one million of Mexico’s poorest citizens now live inside and along our border from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California in what the New York Times called, “colonias†or new neighborhoods. Trouble is, those living areas resemble Bombay and Calcutta where grinding poverty, filth, diseases, drugs, crimes, no sanitation and worse. They live without sewage, clean water, streets, electricity, roads or any kind of sanitation. The New York Times reported them to be America’s new “Third World†inside our own country. Within 20 years, at their current growth rate, they expect 20 million residents of those colonias. (I’ve seen them personally in Texas and Arizona; it’s sickening beyond anything you can imagine.) By enforcingourlaws,we could repatriate them back to Mexico.

High integrity, ethical invitation

We invite 20 million aliens to go home, fix their own countries and/or make a better life in Mexico. We invite a million people into our country legally more than all other countries combined annually. We cannot and must not allow anarchy at our borders, more anarchy within our borders and growing lawlessness at every level in our nation.

It’s time to stand up for our country, our culture, our civilization and our way of life.

I imagine the economy would survive, but I guarentee hell will freeze over before they leave.

So that's 20M people not buying stuff, not renting or buying houses, not doing productive work that no one else is interested in but would have to be done or that co will go out of business.

I'd go with massive unemployment, deep recession, and plunging tax revenues.

Really think any Americans are giong to pick oranges for even minimum wage? I would suspect prices for everything are going to skyrocket. And you think independent contractors are terrible now, wait until there is no low ball competition.

I would say it would be a good start but how would we get the rest of them to leave?

Gunpoint. ;)

they do the work nobody else will do. and they do it so cheap if they left the business will hsve to raise prices...there are other solutions...

they shouldnt BE in our prisons, if they are breaking the law, they need to go home, its called deportation.

make the current workers citizens and make them pay taxes like the rest of us...secure the border to prevent new illegal immigration.

Id like to know where the numbers in the article came from...what is the source to those "facts" the same source should give the pros AND cons of 20m immigrants leaving the country...I hate one sided crap.

oh BTW, I am white (Italian) born in CA...but I do know that the illegals in CA for the most part work their asses off in the fields picking crops.. for 10hrs a day including in the rain, for less than minimum wage

bottom line, we need them, they need us, so make it right....

As a legal immigrant this would piss me off, I had to have my Green card for 5 years before I could apply for citizenship, which I did on July 29 of this year. I am now waiting for my paperwork to go through. They also just made it harder to become a citizen by raising the price from $400 to $680. A lot of these people cannot afford $400 to become a citizen, let alone $680...

I never understood this as an argument. You went through all kinds of pain, expense and hassle and now you want everyone else to have to go through it too? Pretty small-minded, if you ask me.

No, they do work that can be done by welfare recipients

they shouldn't BE in our prisons, if they are breaking the law, they need to go home, its called deportation.

No, if they commit a crime here, they should spend time in prison, THEN get deported. If they kill someone, you'll just drop them off in Tijuana and hope for the best?

Just because I break into your house, eat your food and crap in your commode doesn't mean I should stay there does it? That's what these people are doing! Sure, I may mow your grass.. it's a job that you don't want to do. I guess for that reason you should give me amnesty and the upstairs bedroom. Thanks.

Maybe in CA they work for less than minimum wage, but around these parts they get as much or more than the same American worker. They get that because they do the same work and the job foreman don't haev to pay taxes on them.

bottom line, we need them, they need us, so make it right....

Great, then they can live with you.

Well I didn't post it to be down on anybody but the illegals and those using them. If a man wants to better himself and provide a better life for his family good for him. Come to America, pledge your citizenship and learn ENGLISH (since that is OUR Language HERE), buy a half acre with a house on it, purchase your needed goods, and pay your taxes like the rest of the working americans have to do!!

And as for the welfare people, if your really handicapped and NEED help well thats one thing, BUT if your just too d#$n lazy to get out and get a job, so what if its minimum wage, quit mooching of my future social security!!

Let it be known if you try to cross the border illegally then your going to chance your life because a bullet is waiting for you on the other side. People come to the USA legally AND YOU CAN TOO!!!

Crime and punishment need to be like the book says "An eye for an eye", if your life was in the balance as the result of doing a crime, wouldn't you think twice before commiting it? If your sentenced to death, or on death row, well why put it off .......... your not on vacation, string them up so every other would be criminal can see them swinging in the wind from a rope.

And one last thing while I'm back on my box, who the hell can get mad for a noose being used as a halloween decoration or even just lying around? WTF ........ just because you might be "african american" why are you getting so upset, was history not included in your school books? In the west when crime and punishment was REAL, I'm sure there was more than a few "white cowboys" hanged by a rope!! But I'm not going around causing a fuss about it. More than just "white people" have used the noose for hanging ...... and more than just "black" people were hung by them too!!!

What other things can people come up with to cry about, or use for an excuse to ravage our culture and country?

I can't speak for JRules, but it seems to be that he was lamenting at how difficult is is to become a citizen at all...

I would fully support making the process less expensive (if that is feasible), and take less time. The important thing is for these folks who wish to come into the country do so in a legitimate manner, whether permanently through citizenship, or temporarily with a visa... the point being to ensure that they pay their taxes (under their own identity), provide for funding their medical care/insurance, and have a clean criminal record and bill of health (with regard to communicable diseases). All of the other laws which they break (such as drunk driving) can be handled within the current system, but they will be able to be tracked more efficiently.

There is a right way and a wrong way to enter this country and its workforce... prevention and punishment for the wrong way is just as important as making the right way more efficient.

We dont disagree. I think a system of basically instant visas with biometric info at the border at a small cost would be far more efficient than mining the border or any of the other garbage so often proposed.

I would love to see an efficient system like that (with, of course, a quarantine to provide for a background check and for communicable diseases). The only stipulation I would also require is a removal of the requirement for hospitals and public heath facilities to provide free health care, and enforcement of employers to deduct/report all earnings and taxes, just like anyone else...

I only have 3 points to make

So you report all your internet purchases to the state of TN and pay the appropriate sales tax on them, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong BUT aren't most of em' living on land that the U.S. took from Mexico? So aren't WE the illegals in Calif, Az., New Mexico and Texas? Not trying to start anything, just wonder why it's ok for U.S. citizens to "invade" Mexico and fight a war over taking Mexican land but it's not ok for Mexicans to move back to land that used to be theirs.

Um, no. Whatever happened in the past, the U.S. currently includes the land now known as NM, CA, etc. Even Mexico aknowledges this so there is no disputed border. People crossing that border without proper documentation are doing so illegally. Everyone agrees this is so.

Yeah all that is in the distant past and can never be changed, just like some other things people bring up from the past like: some "African Americans" feel people now days owe them something for things that happened in the past where as more than likely the people that had anything to do with it should be passed on by now. If any of my ancestors had any slaves (and I don't know if they did or didn't) I can't change that now and NOW is when I am living my life. All that happened in the American History and people should be focused on the problems of society here and now. Let a dead dog lie. I'm not going to ask the Queen to issue a formal appology to me for the British killing any of my distant realatives during the Revolution!! I'm not picking on any certain groups but I have no tolerance for STUPID people who look for a handout and don't do anything in return, or for criminals.

And that was the same thing that U.S. Citizens did 150+ years ago moving into Mexican held Texas. It was wrong back then and it's wrong now, only difference was we had the power to kick their butt and take their land, they don't have that power to do it to us today.

Not so. Mexico, in an attempt to settle the lands now known as Texas officially invited and encouraged folks from the young U.S. as well as other parts of the world to come there and take up residence. Mexico wanted the revenue from the taxes and there were not enough Mexicans to provide that. I don't recall anyone officially inviting mass migration from Mexico into our country. And besides that they don't do much in the way of taxes other than pay sales taxes and drain revenue from the states affected which is pretty much all of the lower 48.

It was not the same thing, not even remotely comparable. The U.S. engaged in a war and annexed the land. The purpose, directed by the central government, was explicitly to use armed force to conquer the land and bring it under US control.

Today Mexicans (and not all illegals are Mexican and not all Mexicans are illegal) come here on their own, largely unarmed, seeking work.

If you can't understand that difference please ask elsewhere, like on THR.

That of course is unproven and inaccurate. But don't let that stop you.
