The grip length is my main concern with concealability. It still has a 19rd magazine so it's not going to be any shorter.

Edit: Damn I'm slow.

whats the diff between this and a SC XD?

XD-M series has too many differences to list.

Look on Springfield site.

Suffice it to say, there is nothing in the XD-M line as small as the XD Sub Compact.

Well, I'm an XD fan, but that is quite a crock, IMNSHO.

The butt is the primary concealability factor, not whacking off a whopping .7" diff on barrel length.

That's about the difference between a gov model and commander model 1911. It will be a matter of balance and comfort. Some folks just don't have the torso length to hide a full length gun.

I'd suspect they come out with a 3.2/3.3 with a 14/15rd mag next year.

+1. I can't think of a carry option where slide length is the primary concealibility issue. It seems like grip length and thickness are always more important.

Hopefully, the Croats will find a way to make a true compact XDm. If they can make one that shoots like the full-size, count me in for 2 of them.

They're trying to make this out to be some sort of pocket pistol, but it's actually a pretty large handgun. Did anyone check out the weight? over 27 ozs empty.

I can't wait to see the guy who reads the ad and goes and sees it for the first time at the store.

OH heavens no! How did we ever get by with 20+oz 38's as pocket guns?

I can carry and conceal a heavier revolver than I can a pistol, at least that's been my experience, maybe yours has been different. My wife's snub nose .357 is a cinch to conceal whereas my M&P .40 is lighter but a bitch to keep from showing off.

Unless standard XD mags fit the XDm, you'd have to chop the mags as well.

Fail...

This pistol should have received a grip length reduction. And with the width of the magazine, I would expect a 13rd capacity given a similar grip length as a XD9SC.

You think they are going to slowly phase out the standard XD line? Thats where I see this heading.

Well, full size, maybe, but doubt if they will kill the sub compact cash cow until they have something with same dimensions in XDM line.

And so far, no XDM .45 of any ilk even hinted at, AFAIK.

Not to revive a dead horse, but has anyone shot one of these? I went to CCA today and tried out the XD, S&W M&P and an XD Compact and I was more impressed with the M&P. Of course, they didn't have an XDM (much less an XDM 3.8) to shoot.

Looking for some feedback on the XDM 3.8 (as far as shooting, not cosmetic, conceal ability, etc that has already been covered).

Thanks in advance.
