Dan Wesson does use some Ed Brown components in some of their guns. My Commander Bobtail has several Ed Brown parts straight out of the factory.

I used several Ed Brown components in my built 45 parts gun. Really got lucky with the barrel and bushing fit to my slide. Locks up tight with smooth release. Shoots straight too.

When I learned the DW had Brown parts, it sold me into looking for a CBOB 45.

Still looking for the right deal. :D

I think DAN WESSON & CZ are affiliated ??? But I had a chance to buy one for $700 & I didn't do it !!!

Yikes...was it used, how much so? CZ owns DW. A good condition DW for 700 is a real bargain. Better run back there and check.

I have Valor from Dan Wesson and it's the best production 1911 around..... JMO..

The Browns I have are better .. but for the price the Dan Wesson line is fantastic..

I just picked up a Dan Wesson Pointman 7, and it's one of my favorite 1911s, and I haven't even shot it, yet. It's got some nice Ed Brown pieces on it (as stated earlier by another member), and I've been really impressed with it (upon takedown and cleaning). I would love to have a Valor someday, as well.

If anyone is considering the purchase of a Dan Wesson 1911, please do yourself the favor and pick one up - you won't be sorry, and they are one of those firearms that will give you a lifetime of service, and at the same time, have a great resale, should you HAVE to sell it (but you won't want to). I can't say enough good things about this firearm/company.
