Mossberg 500 Barrel Question

Wasn't exactly sure where to post this, couldn't find anything on it previously... Was recently looking on Gun Broker and stumbled across someone selling this barrel. Says it was originally 18.5 inches and it has been shortened to 16.5 inches. Is this legal to buy from an individual on the internet? I was under the impression that a 16.5 inch barrel went under the NFA regulations?

IIRC the barrel isn't the firearm and therefore isn't what actually falls under NFA. I wouldn't however possess it in the same home with a shotgun that isn't registered as a SBS as that would be a nice case of constructive possession.
