Yeah, 2012.

But seriously, Christmas has become far too commercialized for my tastes. People expect gifts instead of being thankful for recieving them. It has become the most stressful time of year. And to top it off, saying Merry Christmas has become politically incorrect!

just celebrate it on July 25, It is closer to the birth of Christ and x-mass in July is easier than happy July holidays to say, let all the heathens and pagans celibate the winter solstice, as for me I normally wait for the week after x-mass to buy gifts, they are normally cheaper, and after all, whats a few days late in the grand scope of ones happiness, but i am with you, if one cant be happy during this time why bother.

Usually I feel the same, but for some reason not so much this year.

Nope. I'm enjoying the season for the reasons it was intended, not the reasons that Wal-Mart wants.

+1 this is my favorite time of year

Because Christmas has become so commercial and my family is pretty blessed, we are focusing more on giving this year. The TGO thing hit at just the right time, in addition to some tree angels and gifts for the troops, it should shape up to be a pretty good Christmas.

I am with you, I hate the holidays.

Anyone here besides me wishing they could wake up and tomorrow be January 2?

I'm with ya!

Nope. I normally don't give much or receive much. I just enjoy the holidays as they are. :koolaid:

I want to be like David, but since I dont want to write a book here.... short answer is YEP

Nope. Not the greatest time for me due to some work issues, but that is not going to detract from what this season is about for me.

For many this isn't really a holiday, doesn't follow your beliefs, so don't celebrate it. Don't let the stores and commercialism tell you what to celebrate, don't listen to the hype. Don't let the political correct Nazi's tell you what to say or what not to say. If you do believe, if you do celebrate Christmas, remember what it is all about, the birth of Christ. If you don't believe, enjoy your day off.

Its not that I hate the holidays, its that I hate the holiday people.

Actually I just hate people in general all year long, but when the holidays roll around,I hate them with a **** eatin' grin, and give them a "happy holidays" greeting just so they'll hate me as much as I hate them. :koolaid:

This would be a better holiday if one of my edicts was followed.

"Everyone should have to work retail at least one Christmas."

Contrary to my precious post I DO ENJOY the holiday season...I find JOY in seeing others getting stressed out...sorry just the tiny wicked streak in me. Like some on here I am focused on "giving" this year more than "receiving"....Merry Chrisma-hana-kwanza ya'll

I like this time of year, coming in from the cold and standing by a fire just makes a person feel good.

As gift cards became more popular a few years ago our family just started giving them to each other. I made a management decision a couple of years ago and told everyone that I no longer wanted to exchanage cards. I told them to just take what every they would have spent on cards and use it to buy themselves something. It saves shopping twice, once for the card and once to redeem the card. I also adopted the policy for birthdays. Now we just buy for any children including College age. Makes life easier.

Same here. From Thanksgiving to New Year's is my favorite time of year, with Christmas being the highlight. It has nothing to do with gifts.
